Did you watch the Super Bowl, the Puppy Bowl, a bowl of cereal, or did you just watch this space for the New Releases?

New releases at your FLGS

Fantasy Flight Games is riding this Star Wars "fad" with another new release for Star Wars: Age of Rebellion. Lead By Example is a sourcebook for Commanders. (Source: Alliance)

You know what would come in handy most days? A Cosmic Handbook. This one won't unravel the mysteries of the cosmos, but it will give Mutants & Masterminds (3rd Edition) players a blueprint for running their superhero campaigns in space. From Green Ronin Publishing, or course! (Source: Alliance)

Pelgrane Press is in stores with 13th Age Gamemaster Screen and Resource Book (Source: Alliance, Leisure Games)

I know folks are rabid for anything that's a 5e Game System Product (D&D 5th Edition Compatible). Primeval Thule Campaign Setting (5E) is now available from Sasquatch Game Studio. It's possible that this is not in distribution yet (LG might have backed the KS), but the previous versions of this sourcebook eventually get there. (Source: Leisure Games)

New PDF releases

Third Eye Games keeps rolling along. The Ninja Crusade 2nd Edition is now available in PDF from OBS. This new edition (formerly Wu Xing: The Ninja Crusade) has a new system and expanded setting. It will be available in print soon. (Thanks to Jacob for the tip!)

D&D PDFs this week: Wizards Presents: Worlds and Monsters (4E), The Unwavering Path (3.5), Supplement II: Blackmoor (0E; from the premium reprint), Dungeons & Dragons Gazetteer (3E), and Bad Light (3.5E; not Bud Light as I originally read it).

(Note: Due to time constraints, I only cover the WotC D&D PDFs and anything that I receive as a tip. Let us know about new PDFs you've seen in the comments. If you would like to cover PDFs, please let us know!)

Other Products

In the "You Never Know" department, it looks like Leisure Games has received a large order from IPR: Golden Sky Stories: Heart-Warming Role-Playing, Spirit of 77, Wide World of 77, Faerie Skies, I Want to be an Awesome Robot, Blood & Honor, Cat: Revised, The Aegis Project, Nefertiti Overdrive, and The Last Days of Anglekite. I know some of these are not even close to being a new release, but they probably haven't been mentioned in What's New? either. If they hit Alliance or Impressions, I'll mention them again. Do the new releases this week feel like Groundhog Day? I don't think so...

New releases at your FLGS

Fantasy Flight Games is in stores this week with Enemies Beyond for Dark Heresy (2nd Edition) and The End of the World: Alien Invasion for The End of the World. (Source: Alliance, Leisure Games)

Here's a cool story... Fall of Magic by Heart of the Deernicorn was funded by Kickstarter and is now in stores. This collaborative storytelling game has some impressive components and non-standard packaging. It's neat to find this in distribution. (Source: Alliance)

Pinnacle Entertainment Group is in stores with more Savage Worlds Lankhmar / Nehwon. Lankhmar: Savage Tales of the Thieves Guild offers 14 adventures. (Source: Alliance)

Goodman Games is back on store shelves with Fifty Fantastic Functions for the D50 (pretty self-explanatory) and DCC #084.2: Synthetic Swordsmen of the Purple Planet for Dungeon Crawl Classics Role Playing Game. Get your D50 before there's a shortage! (Source: Impressions)

Funded by Kickstarter, Modiphius Entertainment has delivered Fragged Empire and Fragged Empire: Antagonist Archive 1 first to backers and now to stores. This is a post post-apocalyptic RPG with its own system. (Source: Impressions)

Has anyone out there found the The Lost City of Gaxmoor (C&C)? If so, please let the Queen know. This Castles & Crusades adventure setting from Troll Lord Games will take adventurers from first to tenth level. (Source: Impressions)

New PDF releases

D&D PDFs this week: Wizards Presents: Races and Classes (4E), Supplement I: Greyhawk (0E; the booklet from the premium reprint), Manifesting: A Tale (3E), and Living Greyhawk Gazetteer (3E).

(Note: Due to time constraints, I only cover the WotC D&D PDFs and anything that I receive as a tip. Let us know about new PDFs you've seen in the comments. If you would like to cover PDFs, please let us know!)

Who else is tired? Maybe the New Releases will perk us up...

New releases at your FLGS

It's the first round of Pathfinder Roleplaying Game releases for 2016. Pathfinder #101: The Kintargo Contract, Pathfinder #102: Breaking the Bones of Hell, Arcane Anthology, and various related accessories are now available from Paizo Publishing. (Source: Leisure Games)

New PDF releases

Stop the Presses! I just received an encrypted message on my screen. I think it's from Lars. There are four new PDF releases for Shadowrun: Shadows in Focus: City by Shadow - San Francisco Metroplex (setting sourcebook), SRM06-02: Amber Waves of Grain (adventures), Runner's Black Book (4E - available as a single PDF for the first time), and Runner's Black Book 2074 (4E - available as a single PDF for the first time). Unfortunately, it says the message will self-destruct in 2 seco...

D&D PDFs this week: Premium Original Dungeons & Dragons Fantasy Roleplaying Game (0E) and Forest Maker (2E).

(Note: Due to time constraints, I only cover the WotC D&D PDFs and anything that I receive as a tip. Let us know about new PDFs you've seen in the comments. If you would like to cover PDFs, please let us know!)

Other Products

Leisure Games also has AX1: The Sinister Stone of Sakkara (Revised) for Adventurer Conqueror King System, The Warren from Bully Pulpit Games and our own Marshall Miller (also seen on DriveThru), and Focal Point: The Complete Game Master's Guide to Running Extraordinary Sessions from Engine Publishing listed as New Releases. These may be in distribution, or it may just be Leisure Games being awesome again. If they hit Alliance or Impressions, I'll cover them again.

It's brutally cold outside my front door, but it's hot... Eh, it's still lukewarm for the new releases. Give it time.

New releases at your FLGS

Modiphius Entertainment is in stores for the first time this year with the long awaited DUST Adventures Roleplaying Game and Dead Blue Sea (a, well, sea sourcebook) for Mutant: År Noll. (Source: Impressions)

Available in PDF for a few months, Hard Targets is now available in print from Catalyst Game Labs. This Shadowrun (5th Edition) sourcebook has all the rules you need for wetwork jobs. (Source: Leisure Games)

Funded by Kickstarter and released at Gen Con 2015, The Last Parsec - a sci-fi Savage Worlds setting - is now available at your FLGS from Pinnacle Entertainment Group. (Source: Alliance)

A quick explanation of the distributors that I check. Alliance is a big US distributor. New releases listed there might take extra time to show up in other countries. Leisure Games is a fantastic FLGS in the UK. New releases listed there might take extra time to show up outside the UK. In addition, Leisure Games sometimes has items not in regular distribution (Kickstarter, small press) so YMMV. Impressions is a smaller US distributor with some notable clients. I hold their New Releases a week, but they could hit US stores a bit faster or slower.

New PDF releases

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the Dungeon Masters Guild. As I've done in the past, I'll try to cover the Wizards of the Coast releases each week. If you see something interesting from the DMs Guild, let us know in the comments. Just missing the cut last week, Mines of Madness and a large variety of free Pregen characters were released for Dungeons & Dragons (5th Edition).

(Note: Due to time constraints, I only cover the WotC D&D PDFs and anything that I receive as a tip. Let us know about new PDFs you've seen in the comments. If you would like to cover PDFs, please let us know!)

Hey you kids, get off my Avatar!

January is starting slow - as expected - but I recently saw a press release for an RPG with a Gen Con 2016 release date. Time flies...

New releases at your FLGS

Bully Pulpit Games has just released a whole bunch of Fiasco: Fiasco '10 Playset Anthology Vol. 1, Fiasco '11 Playset Anthology Vol. 2, and Fiasco '12 Playset Anthology Vol. 3. This collects the digitally available Playsets of the Month with new material by Jason Morningstar. (Source: Leisure Games)

Funded by Kickstater and debuting at Essen '15, it's FAITH: The Sci-Fi RPG – Core Set from Burning Games Ltd. In addition to the core set, Leisure Games also has a ton of accessories available. (Source: Leisure Games)

New PDF releases

D&D PDFs this week: Undermountain: Stardock (2E), Wreck Ashore (3.5), White Plume Mountain (Revised) (3.5), Unearthed Arcana (1E, the premium reprint), and Something's Cooking (3.5).

(Note: Due to time constraints, I only cover the D&D PDFs and anything that I receive as a tip. Let us know about new PDFs you've seen in the comments. If you would like to cover PDFs, please let us know!)

Let's see what the New Year brought...

New releases at your FLGS

I normally don't cover things like screens, tiles or other play aids, but when it's for Dungeons & Dragons (5th Edition) I make an exception. Rage of Demons Dungeon Master's Screen is themed for Out of the Abyss or any other foray into the Underdark. From Wizards of the Coast, Gale Force Nine, LLC of course. (Source: Leisure Games)

Released at Gen Con 2015 and just now hitting stores, it's Luther Arkwright: Roleplaying Across the Parallels for RuneQuest (6th Edition). This The Design Mechanism book includes contributions from our own Chad Bowser. (Source: Leisure Games)

Here's a weird one. Pirates & Dragons Core Rulebook was funded by Kickstarter and delivered in 2014, but the core book from Cakebread & Walton is just now entering distribution. (Source: Alliance)

Also funded by Kickstarter, End Transmission Games has Psionics in stores. This new RPG (Psionics) uses the Dicepunk System and is inspired by Akira and Firestarter. This actually hit distribution in the last days of 2015. (Source: Alliance)

New PDF releases

Charles Rice stopped by to let us know that AZ: After Zombies is now for sale at One Book Shelf. This new RPG from Apocalyptic Games is a d% zombie survival game.

D&D PDFs this week: AC1: The Shady Dragon Inn (Basic), Tomb of Horrors (Revised) (3.5), The Burning Plague (3.5), A0-A4: Against the Slave Lords (1E), and A Dark and Stormy Knight (3.5). The 3.5 PDFs have small page counts and are 99 cents (US). There are no Dungeon or Dragon products as of the time this was written.

(Note: Due to time constraints, I only cover the D&D PDFs and anything that I receive as a tip. Let us know about new PDFs you've seen in the comments. If you would like to cover PDFs, please let us know!)

It looks like I do have time for a quick "What's New" this week after all. Impressions and Leisure Games didn't have release lists this week, so it's just the single FLGS release...

New releases at your FLGS

Shadow of the Demon Lord Core Rulebook is now officially in distribution from Schwalb Entertainment. (Source: Alliance)

New PDF releases

D&D PDFs this week: Into the Unknown: The Dungeon Survival Handbook (4E), Ghostwalk (3E), Dragon (Issue 430 - Dec 2013) (4E), and Dungeon (Issue 221 - Dec 2013) (4E/Next).

(Note: Due to time constraints, I only cover the D&D PDFs and anything that I receive as a tip. Let us know about new PDFs you've seen in the comments. If you would like to cover PDFs, please let us know!)

Other Products

Playing Nature's Year is now available in print and PDF from Night Sky Games. This kickstarter funded product has contributions from Meguey Baker, D. Vincent Baker, Jodi Levine, and Epidiah Ravachol. (Thanks to Oliver Scholes for the tip!)

Also funded by Kickstarter, The Warren has shipped to backers. This Apocalypse World Engine RPG from Bully Pulpit Games is designed by our own Marshall Miller. It should be available to the masses soon. (Thanks to Oliver and someone else for the tip!)

This is likely the last "What's New?" for 2015. What was your favorite New Release this year?

New releases at your FLGS

It's Pathfinder Roleplaying Game release week! Paizo Publishing is in stores with A Song of Silver (Adventure Path #100 - Hell's Rebels), Cheliax, The Infernal Empire, Agents of Evil (a companion soucebook), and The House on Hook Street (a deluxe adventure). (Source: Leisure Games, Alliance)

Weird, another Star Wars release! This time Fantasy Flight Games has delivered Keeping the Peace for Star Wars: Force and Destiny from a galaxy far, far away. (Source: Leisure Games, Alliance)

Following up on the core book, Modiphius Entertainment has released Mutant Chronicles Players' Guide for Mutant Chronicles RPG 3rd Edition. (Source: Impressions)

Castles & Crusades gets another adventure. Harvest of Oaths from Troll Lord games is set in an area that overlooks the Wingnut Bottoms. Who wouldn't want to adventure there? (Source: Impressions)

Funded by Kickstarter (and delivered long past the delivery date), Hammerdog Games has the Pathfinder System Compatible Product megadungeon The Grande Temple of Jing into distribution. (Source: Alliance)

When I think of the holidays, the first thing that pops to mind is Rifts Chaos Earth. Palladium Books brings the holiday cheer with Resurrection - a zombie sourcebook. (Source: Alliance)

I think this is the first time this book has hit distribution. Funded by Kickstarter and brought to you by Third Eye Games, Apocalypse Prevention, Inc. 2nd Edition is now in stores. (Source: Alliance)

New PDF releases

Psi-punk: World's Edge Arena is the latest release for Psi-punk from Accessible Games and our own Jacob Wood. This sourcebook "takes players to the city of Punta Arenas, Chile, where they compete for extraordinary wealth. The book includes rules for arena combat, plenty of monsters and human opponents to fight, and enough setting detail and plot hooks to help GMs build ongoing campaigns set in and around the area." PDF is available now with print coming soon.

Narrowly avoiding the Grid Overwatch Division, Lars has emerged with details for Rigger 5.0 (a vehicle sourcebook) and SRM06-01: Ten Fifty-Seven (begins a new series of Missions) for Shadowrun (5th Edition) from Catalyst Game Labs.

Friend of the News Tim Huckelbery stopped by to let us know that Enemies Without has been released in PDF for Dark Heresy (2nd Edition). It had previously been released in print in early November.

D&D PDFs this week: d20 Past (d20M), Menzoberranzan: City of Intrigue (4E), Dungeon (Issue 220 - Nov 2013) (4E), and Dragon (Issue 429 - Nov 2013) (4E).

(Note: Due to time constraints, I only cover the D&D PDFs and anything that I receive as a tip. Let us know about new PDFs you've seen in the comments. If you would like to cover PDFs, please let us know!)

Cubicle 7 Entertainment is in stores again. First, it's As Above, So Below - a Special Forces sourcebook - for The Laundry. Second, Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space has a new version of the core rules with Cardinal Richelieu on the cover. (Source: Leisure Games, Alliance)

Iron Kingdoms Full Metal Fantasy Roleplaying Game - the Unleashed variety - now has a GM Toolkit. (Source: Leisure Games)

Boundless Mercy is a new set of linked missions for Shadowrun (5th Edition) from Catalyst Game Labs. (Source: Leisure Games, Alliance)

Goodman Games knows how to bring the holiday cheer for Dungeon Crawl Classics Role Playing Game fans. Their newest release is the DCC 2015 Holiday Module, Dungeon Crawl Classics 2015 Holiday Module: Advent of the Avalanche Lords. (Source: Impressions)

Codex of Aihrde for Castles & Crusades from Troll Lord Games is now available in stores. It's in full color and boasts "in depth history, mythology, descriptions of all the races of the world, from dwarves to giants and elves to orcs, a case by case study of all the relevant kingdoms and peoples and the geographical regions the live. Aihrde is the most complete campaign setting on the market today." (Source: Impressions)

Chronicles of Darkness Announced by Onyx Path and White Wolf

Hey you kids, get off my Avatar!
mbmbmb
Onyx Path Publishing and the newly formed White Wolf Publishing have announced a new brand name for the Chronicles of Darkness RPGs.

Quote:
These game lines include Vampire: the Requiem 2nd Edition, Werewolf: the Forsaken 2nd Edition, Mage: the Awakening 2nd Edition, Promethean: the Created 2nd Edition, Changeling: the Lost 2nd Edition, Hunter: the Vigil 2nd Edition, Geist: the Sin-Eaters, Mummy: the Curse, Demon: the Descent, and Beast: the Primordial, as well as any upcoming projects and game lines.

The purpose behind Chronicles of Darkness is to enable the game lines of the first World of Darkness that started in 1991 and the New World of Darkness that started in 2004, to coexist as distinct and different settings. Onyx Path‘s ongoing publication of the 2nd Edition core books has already evolved the Chronicles of Darkness game lines into their own unique settings, and this change in the overall title will allow our creative teams to further explore these game lines’ own themes and tone.

Thanks to Steve Dubya for the tip.
