As I composed my list of the Greatest D&D Adventure Modules of All Time, it was no surprise to see entries from the classic World of Greyhawk and Mystara settings dominate the list. However, it was surprising to see a relatively unknown setting, the Kingdoms of Kalamar, make an appearance with Deathright, the top-rated D&D module on RPG.net. A couple of its other modules almost made the cut, which is more than can be said of most other settings, including the Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, and Eberron worlds.

This list includes a series of adventure modules set in the Kingdoms of Kalamar. Although few of them have ratings here on GeekDo, I have included only those modules that have garnered at least one positive review somewhere. I'm not sure how well they link together, but a dedicated DM can probably make this series work, especially with the use of the Kalamar campaign sourcebook. All of these modules and the sourcebook total barely more than $10, providing superior bang for your buck.

This introductory module is for 1st level characters and costs just $0.01 on Amazon.com. Aldriv's Revenge ($1 on Amazon) seems to be the best of a few alternatives.

Forging Darkness is written as a sequel to The Root of All Evil, gets a few excellent ratings here on RPGGeek, and costs less than $1 on Amazon.com. A lesser but still decent alternative is The Invasion of Arun'Kid ($3 on Amazon).

Coin's End concludes the trilogy that started with The Root of All Evil. Like its predecessors, it doesn't get very many ratings, but they are all quite good, and it's nearly free on Amazon.com.

This module for 6th to 8th level characters has finally got a rating here on RPGGeek, and it's a 10! Its sole review on RPG.net also sings its praises. The updated version of this game for D&D 3.5 costs only $2 on Amazon.com.

6. RPG Item: Deathright [Average Rating:7.88 Overall Rank:1428]

This module for 8th and 9th level PCs is the second-best D&D adventure on RPG.net, gets very good (but not very many) ratings here, and costs a mere $0.26 on Amazon.com. Garden of the Plantmaster is also for experienced characters, but it's not quite as well-rated as Deathright and costs a lot more (a whole $8) on Amazon.com.

If you want to continue past Deathright, there's The Lost Tomb of Kruk-Ma-Kali for PCs of levels 8 to 14. However, at $20 on Amazon.com, it nearly triples the cost of this entire collection!

7. RPG Item: Kingdoms of Kalamar Campaign Setting Sourcebook [Average Rating:7.69 Overall Rank:229]

Although this sourcebook is unnecessary for the individual adventures, it could be essential for building a campaign, especially at higher levels. It's only $7 on Amazon.com; given the affordability of the modules, this seems a reasonable additional expense.

If the sourcebook isn't enough to fill in any gaps between the adventures on this list, check out either of Kalamar's two adventure compilations: Chango or Harvest of Darkness.

Don't forget that 6x$3.99 = $23.94 is what you're going to pay in shipping of these products from Amazon. I don't think I've ever seen combined shipping available from a seller there - even if you could get everything from one source.

Since publishing this list, the total price of these modules has dropped to a mere $10. Take out the sourcebook, and it's just $3. You're not going to beat $27 (including shipping) for an entire campaign, unless you create one yourself.
