This Microsoft Excel file gives the probability of a success/failure distribution for WFRP 3rd edition, given a certain starting dice pool. It is copyright Robb Minneman, 2010. (I am the author of the file.)
To use, plug in the starting dice pool in the yellow boxes on the left side of the main sheet. Read the probability of success or failure in the red and green boxes to the left.
The "degree of success" box indicates the average number of successes if you succeed, and is a general indicator of how powerful your success will be. Average number of successes is listed below the dice pool entry, in black.
Underneath this is a distribution of Chaos Stars and Sigmar's Comets, independent of the number of successes rolled.
Boons and banes are not yet supported by this file....
The official WFRP dice symbol reference PDF. This document touches on the core mechanic, and explains the different symbols that may appear when rolling a dice pool.
