Franz Bonn (* 18. Juli 1830 in München; † 7. Juli 1894 in Regensburg) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller, humoristischer Dichter, Jurist und Politiker.

Nach dem Abitur am Wilhelmsgymnasium München studierte Bonn von 1846 bis 1851 in München Jurisprudenz. Zunächst war er Staatsanwalts-Substitut in Donauwörth, Ansbach und Bayreuth, dann Staatsanwalt am Oberlandesgericht in München. 1880 trat er in den Dienst des Fürstenhauses Thurn und Taxis, zuletzt tätig als Präsident der Domänenkammer und Direktor des Zivilkollegialgerichts in Regensburg. Er war von 1881 bis 1886 Mitglied im bayerischen Landtag.

Der vielseitig begabte Franz Bonn verfasste unter verschiedenen Pseudonymen (Franz von Münchberg, Freiherr von Rachwitz und von Miris) zahlreiche Jugendschriften, Erzählungen, Dramen, Operntexte und Gedichte. Großen Erfolg erlangte er mit der „Lustigen Naturgeschichte oder Zoologia comica“, welchem Band 2 mit „Botanik und Mineralogie“ folgte (München bei Braun & Schneider, 1877 f.). Ebenso schrieb er humoristische poetische Beiträge für die „Fliegenden Blätter“ und den „Münchener Bilderbogen“.

Franz Bonn war mit Bertha Promoli verheiratet und der Vater des Schauspielers Ferdinand Bonn (1861–1933).

Franz Bonn starb am 7. Juli 1894 in Regensburg.

After graduating from the Wilhelmsgymnasium Bonn studied from 1846 to 1851 in Munich jurisprudence . Initially he was Staatsanwalts- substitute in Donauwörth , Ansbach and Bayreuth , then Prosecutor at the Higher Regional Court in Munich . In 1880 he entered the service of the Princely House of Thurn and Taxis , most recently as president of the domain chamber and Director of Civil Collegiate Court in Regensburg. He was from 1881 to 1886 a member of the Bavarian Landtag.

The versatile Franz Bonn wrote under various pseudonyms ( Francis of Münchberg, Freiherr von Rachwitz and from Miri ) numerous early writings, stories, plays, opera libretti and poems. He achieved great success with the "fun natural history or Zoologia comica", which band 2 with "Botany and Mineralogy" followed (Munich at Braun & Schneider, 1877 f.) . He also wrote humorous poetic contributions to the " Fliegende Blatter " and " Munich broadsheet ".

Franz Bonn was with Bertha Promoli married and the father of actor Ferdinand Bonn (1861-1933).

Franz Bonn died on July 7, 1894 in Regensburg.
