From the Introduction to Uncle Figgy's Guide to Good GameMastering (1998):
So who is Uncle Figgy (aka Dan Cope)? I'm an author/artist who has been roleplaying for over sixteen years, GMing for twelve of those. I've played in hundreds of games from every system and genre imaginable and I've run still more. In all that time, I've learned that there are as many different types of GMs and players as there are game systems and game genres. Some games were very enjoyable, some were bad enough to make me walk out and head to a restaurant for a burger. Some GMs let their players walk all over them while still others wouldn't let the players do anything but roll dice and watch their characters die.
