Wilf Karl Backhaus (November 7, 1946 in Freckenhorst, Germany – October 14, 2009 in Calgary, Alberta) was an Austrian-Canadian game designer, lawyer, writer, philosopher, and consultant. He was perhaps most famous as the designer of the fantasy role-playing game system Chivalry & Sorcery. He died following a two-year battle with cancer.
