I giochi del duemila (The games of 2000)

I giochi del duemila ("The games of 2000") is a collection of role-playing games, game books, wargames, card games and so on by Qualitygame, directed by Andrea Angiolino. It started as a promotional item for the larger Qualitygame boardgames: instead than the usual T-shirts, the publisher decided to make a line of booklets that could be sold, and so distributed in shops and reviewed. The format is 32 pages, 14 x 10 cm, two colours. The name of the collection refers both to the end of the millennium and to the price: 2000 liras, that means 1.03 euros, making them the cheapest games in Italy.

The first three titles have been released for the spring 1995 edition of the "Lucca Comics and Games" fair, then half-yearly. To make things easier, they were assembled using previously released materials: the Mediterraneo and Röle RPGs and some gamebook stories set in ancient myth collected in the Mitico! anthology. The success has been good so the collection went on publishing new titles from well-known and debutant authors, sometime co-operating with more than one person. At the end, the collection included 23 titles by 30 authors. All of them are Italian apart from Greg Porter (whose "Macho Women With Guns" appeared in "Pochettravel Edition TM") and James LaFond (for the Italian edition of the food wargame "Pizza Wars").
