Below the Screaming Valley and its population of Mudmen, the Dragon of Mercy sleeps. Veronica has been called to wake him. She was just a mousy girl - so much smaller than her place in history - until she got tapped for this job by the God of Magic. Now armored up, with hair sun-bleached and flying, Veronica is changing the tempo of history. #131 is a consolidating and seminal issue. The Falcon Guards are back looking for Lightstealer and a storm elf with twisted melt marks on his face is working to eradicate the blue flame he got in the crèche. The Mudmen can’t survive what’s going to happen next here. But wait - Veronica constructs magical fortresses that bridge the planes of reality, so escape routes might be available. They’re all good guys here. Just pick your hero and don’t get sidetracked into the Dread Pit.
Toys for the Sandbox is not a module, it is not a campaign setting, instead it is a framework for GMs to use to reinforce their own imaginations. Sometimes players zig when you expect them to zag, other times they take your plot point into a back alley and leave it penniless and bleeding. Each week we present a new location with a map and some flavor text. In addition we add 4 NPCs with a bit of history and a few simple thoughts on how to stat them for whatever game you are playing. There are also 6 plot hooks each with 3 ways to twist them. Added to that there is usually a table or two filled with rumors and encounters.
