The game is played in turns, each of which encompasses one year. During play an overall value (the Ice Value) rises by one point, leading inexorably to the collapse of Atlantis. Turns are played in five defined phases. Because of the length of game time in the turns, characters - powerful enough on a daily basis - are assumed to be able to accomplish quite a bit during every turn. Action resolution uses an action table and dice pools. The game has a traditional roleplaying feel but curious and intriguing mechanics.
