The second edition of MechWarrior was released due to the dramatic events in the BattleTech universe.

The game is designed to fit into the rules of BattleTech and suggests the use of the BattleTech Compendium and Solaris VII
Characters are not compatible with Mechwarrior 1st edition. Character generation is based upon priorities system, and use of skill points to purchase packages (at a discount over the individual skills).
