In the tradition of early edition D&D these adventures are the B series for the WEGS 101 - Old Skool RPG.
The B1 Hobgobble's Eve and B2 Minotaur Meat adventures were both playtested at summer conventions prior to their release. GameWick Games offered these as scheduled events at Origins, Gen Con, Dexcon (NJ) and Ubercon (NJ), both in 2008 and 2009. Generally, the modules are finalized and published once the fall convention season concludes.
Inspired greatly by the grand-daddy of all dungeon crawls, Keep on the Borderlands, these modules are evocative of the earlier days of rpg-ing. Distinctly different though, as these modules do not include adventure maps and are written in a narrative style. The adventures rely heavily on the imaginations of the Kreator (game master in WEGS) and the players.
The modules are written in a three chapter format and use Intermezzos to lead the players from start to finish. There are plenty of lead-ins for role-play and the ending (Epilogue) is open-ended. The modules do not have to be played in order.
The three chapter format was inspired by convention play. Three main encounters for a four hour time slot. Experienced WEGS players can finish the modules in a night. New players may take two or three sessions.
The modules are written to assist new Kreators in running a WEGS adventure. They also include new rules and helpful tips.
