As an alternative to the very quick and painless standard method of protagonist creation in the core rules of Chronica Feudalis, I've just posted a phased method on my blog. Phases as in the phases you use to make characters in FATE games such as Spirit of the Century and Diaspora.
It takes a little longer, but it's still pretty painless and generates a backstory for your character as you proceed through the process.
