First of all I must confess I am an old RPG'er, I still play "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons" (1st edition) with my old gaming group. I do this now for about 30 years and I got every rulebook and almost every adventure.
I also play a lot of boardgames and wargames, the latter almost always with my wife who is a fervent gamer too.
My wife also liked to try out a RPG. Now is Warhammer an RPG that can be played by two players?
What is your opinion about this?
Regards,
Günter

I think it probably plays best with 4 pcs, but depending on the campaign, you could probably make something work. I think you will want some npcs and such for certain things.

Indeed, that will be best I guess!

I believe most RPGs can be played with 1 player and WFRP is no exception.
If you're planning on running your own stuff then you can easily tailor it to suit a single player.
If you plan on using published adventures then you'll have to tone down combats but everything else should work fine.

I do agree that any RPG can be played with GM and just one player, though there are a few that really do need more (Paranoia).
My only worry with WFRP is the brutal combat system. You would either need little combat or give them some help in the way of NPCs, hirelings or letting them play a couple of PCs; and I've played many a fun game with a single player with the player playing more than six PCs.
WFRP is a great game, I highly recommend it.

Thanks, I will try it out. My wife played RPG's before and so will be able to play two or three characters!
I own the game and the first expansion "The Adventurer's Toolkit" already, just need to order the other expansions!

Is there also an Adventurer's Toolkit for 2nd edition? I thought that was new to the 3rd edition.
So which edition are you talking about? You're currently posting in the forum for 2nd edition. 3rd edition is very different. Of course you can still play with a single PC, but it might require a bit of tweaking. 3rd edition has a party sheet with some mechanics related to it that might not make a lot of sense for a party of 1. They are easily left out, though.
But please, figure out which edition you're playing, and post in the appropriate forum. Also, the 3rd edition forum is more active.

Oops, so sorry! It wasn't my meaning to confuse anyone. I am indeed talking about the third (latest FFG) edition.
I also have everything from GW's 1st Edition!

Yeah, I've been thinking about running v3 with only a single other player. I haven't decided if it's worth it yet, especially for an inexperienced RPGer.

I would think 2nd or even 1st would do a bit better for only one player character.

My comments were based on 2nd Ed. but just as applicable to 1st. I've not played 3rd Ed. yet but may be in a game in a few weeks time.

On the other hand, that party sheet is easily left out. And 3rd edition does have the advantage that starting characters are a bit more competent than in older editions.
