I saw this for sale in the past year or two...

but it was a "mini" version of the boxed set. It had all of the Erol Otus artwork and even the full Keep on the Borderland module... but it was itty bitty.

Is this think still available? If so... what is the product number or name of the item-- I don't know how to search for this one...!

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you.

I'd dearly love to know where these miniature D&D books and sets are coming from. I did see a complete set of mini 1st edition hardcover books on eBay a few years back and thought they would be fun to own. Not at the price they were asking though.

I have a copy of the mini version and it's pretty interesting...it is indeed itty bitty.

I believe the itty bitty versions were versions sold on US military bases for US military personnel (I think the reasoning was that space would be at a premium for anyone in the military) but I could be wrong...

Interesting, I had never heard this. Anybody know more?

As I recall, a third party company (21st Century Games?) bought the rights to produce these miniature versions of various D&D and AD&D products from WotC shortly after TSR was purchased. They're fairly hard to find these days.
