Why are there all these games with crap descriptions all over the place?

What is this game about?
Is it even a game?
What kind?
How do you play?

I am not able to tell anything from this description.

Can someone that knows anything about this game please amend the description so that that it actually describes the game?

I think the entry in the description field for this game is the text off of the back of the book.

If I get time tonight I will correct it and put a more descriptive description into the field.

Please don't. That text is from the back of the book - unfortunately Penny was one of the games entered during the beta phase early last year and didn't get proper attribution. I've added the attribution.

If you have something to say about the game, add a comment, add information in the 'More Information' field or add a review. Do not alter comments in direct alignment with our guide. Too many sites allow fan opinion and judgment comments in the description fields. We're not going down that road.

For Penny, we've got session reports and reviews if you want to know more about the game. Interestingly enough, that back of the book description describes the atmosphere, the mechanics and general feel of the game better than any paragraph I could write. But my description of the game isn't what we want there... for user commentary you would have to look at comments/reviews/session reports.

You need to blame the game writers and producers or ask (perhaps more nicely!) if someone has a better description. I believe for Penny that there are some good session reports and Reviews.

I know it takes a couple more clicks to read that information but it is available...

Is the policy of VVG to only have the text from the back of the book/box in the description? Because I agree with Nazhuret - The description doesn't tell me anything.

Granted, I've now read some of the reviews and game sessions, but if the point of the game page is to explain what the game is, its not currently working.

Back of the Book or Publisher Blurb is the text we want in the description box. The 'More Information' box, session reports, review forums, etc. are all for commentary about the game. If the publisher hasn't done a good job of putting what the game is about in their blurb - don't fault RPG Geek. What we won't have is any injected commentary that isn't officially from the book or publisher in the description box. Every other part of the database is for user commentary. For Penny - you would only have to look 3 lines down in the forums section of the entry to find a review and a bit lower to find some actual play.
