OK, I really like this system, but have one major complaint:
The magic system is just a collection of combat powers.
Seriously, not even a "Light" or a "Change Self". Nothing other than attacks and defensive boost?
Anyone already worked on this and created something more, or should I start from scratch?
Thanks

Check out www.greenronin.com and check out their dragon age forum, it is one of their most active forums on the site and there are a ton of home brew house rules that are all quite well. I'm sure you will find what you ae looking for.
Cheers!

Thanks, I've actually visited it a few times, but I don't recall seeing what I was looking for.
Plus, I want to generate discussion here on RPGG.

It seems like there are two main schools of thought on this (from poking through the inter-tubes):
1. Non-combat Magic shouldn't exist (because of cannon, debatable).
2. Just let players use (alter) Magic how they want, like using a fire spell to create a small flame lighting a torch.
The second one is more interesting to me. Really, I'm thinking minor magics should be available as Focuses attached to Magic instead of the regular attribute (without the +2 Focus bonus).
Ex: Disguise is normally a focus for Cunning, by linking it to Magic instead and changing the fluff, it becomes Illusion. Stealth becomes a "silence" spell, or a darkening of the shadows. Investigation is the reading of signs & portents.
By removing the +2 Focus bonus, and enforcing the Primary/Secondary Focus selection, Mages won't overshadow the whole party but gain access to whole host of non-combat "magic" without list after list of spells.
Thoughts?
