... Markus snaps off a shot with his energy rifle, joining in the fusilade. "Snuk it! That's my girl on the net, she's falling dirtside! We've got to save her!"
Meanwhile Taylor's enjoying himself, he just loves combat, he starts singing on the squad net,
"These little people were good to me Oh I'm gonna shake some hands Somebody line 'em up Line 'em all up Line 'em up Line 'em all up Line 'em up Line 'em all up Line 'em up Line 'em all up At that time my heart was all broke I looked like ashes and smelled like smoke" ...

Remember, we have the option of combat drugs if things start going south, but we should be OK here.

A note on Drug Use...
[Combat drugs are a Trooper’s secret best friend. Once on each planet they allow a re-roll for FA. Beware, if you then get a 10 on the re-roll you take a Kill]

"Markus, Fall back in line. You'll be no good to her dead, Concentrate on getting these dust balls and then we'll go look for her"
"Squad, we're running out of time, Our troopers are dying out there and seeing as we are the finest the 3:16 have to offer it is our duty to go rescue their lazy butts. Now check your aim and make sure to hit one of the rock's and blast them to pieces, then we can saddle up and go rescue our damsel in distress. We Will Succeed for we are the 3:16, Hoohah!"
With that rousing speech Sarge makes a NFA roll to try and enhance the performance of his sloshed troopers
NFA - 1d10 = (2) = 2
And the troopers are inspired. With GM permission all FA for this combat is increased by +1
Edit: Just realised DeWitt hasn't had their turn yet. This will have to take place after DeWitt's turn. Sorry.

Agreed, the bonus FA will be for the next round. I'm really hoping Dewitt can hit something

Hida Mann, Lets put that action on hold for a second while I lay out the implications. You have rolled a success, if you go after her, you will leave the current encounter and not be able to return until the battle is over. Alternatively you can use that roll as an FA check instead and kills some aliens. What's your choice?
(As an aside, I was hoping to prompt this decision, its a game mechanic that people going off the combat ranges leave the encounter.)

To summarise round 2.
Snicker shoots and misses Cheerful shoots and misses DeWitt leave to recue a fellow trooper. Howitzer shoots and misses. Diaz has moved to a position that gets him "Near" range.
Doh! Cheerful has made a second action (NFA) to give everyone a bonus next turn. This is a muck-up. I shouldn't have let him make a second action in the same round, but we'll let it slide as your all terrible shots and now down one trooper Next round anyone making a FA roll has a one round bonus of +1 on their FA score.
==========================
... the rocks pass through your defensive positions, rocketing past narrowly missing you all by luck and your skill. As they depart you see plumes of gas or maybe frozen vapour streaming behind them. As they shrink into the distance you realise they are, slowing, turning, returning, perhaps even faster than before...
===========================
Start of round three. DeWitt is out of the fight , other players please make your declaration and die roll. Dont forget the bonus to FA, and that Diaz is now at "Near".
The Bad guys roll a 1d10 = (7) = 7

Sarge hunkers down in a crater and opens comms to DeWitt.
"DeWitt, I gave you a direct order to kill the roaming pebbles before rescuing our trooper. When i give you an order i expect you to follow it"
Popping his head up above the surface he sees the rock creatures moving through the defences and opens fire.
FA (4) = 1d10 = (7) = 7

End of round 3 summary.
Dewitt has moved out of the combat on a seperate mission to rescue a fellow trooper. Diaz and Cheerful poured in the fire power but couldn't manage to kill anything. Snicker and Howitzer both landed a hit sending another 11 bads guys to alien hell.
The team has now eliminated 3 of the four threat tokens for this encounter there is only one token left.
===================================
... A bunch of the incoming rocks are blown apart by the teams firepower as they rush past. Once again you note the wriggling things that quickly freeze appearing out the disolving dust clouds. Mikals stares at one as it drifts immobile towards his face plate. Mesmerised by the intricate patterns on it's surface he doesn't move and the thing drifts right into his helmet. It shatters, turning to dust on impact. He blinks and with an explitive starts shooting at the incoming rocks of the next wave.
Two hundred meters off Third squad continue thier fighting retreat as a "bus" swings down towards thier position. They fall back on it, the uninjured troopers leaping inside to give cover from the doorway. The remaing troopers, those helping their injured or disabled pals are a few seconds behind, and that's what saves thier lives.
With a rushing menace that only something massive can achieve, the bus is suddenly pierced from below by a huge white grey icey pinnacle that tears it apart. The pinnacle of ice is attached to a huge boulder at least a hundred meters across that drifts upwards leaving the rings behind and barging smaller rocks out of its way. Up and away it goes, leaving an empty tunnel through the rings behind
Closer to home, much smaller rocks are rocketing back towards First squad.
==================================================
Start of round 4. Only one threat token left, so the shooter that rolls the highest success is going to get the kills.
Dewitt reaches the woman this round, I'd like to know what you have to say to her
Everyone else, state your objective for the round and roll the dice.
The Ice Balls roll a ...1d10 = (7) = 7 .. Darn it, another flippin' miss. Stupid aliens.

There does seem to be an inordinate number of high numbers being rolled...or maybe you guys just can't shoot straight Seriously though, if you dont trust the die roller, roll a real die.
