Background
It happened like this, all those schlocky science fiction and monster movies back in the fifties and sixties, them's the remnant of the world that was. Something happened back around World War II, the atomic age started and just kept right on going, super science, genetic engineering, giant radioactive monsters, invaders from dimension x, all that stuff.
The cold war got called the Radium war back then because of all the radiation powered science being used by both sides, and that war ended up going hot. Both sides ended up using Quantum bombs, they was supposed to render things caught in their fields uncertain to the point they just fell apart into pure energy, then make a big ka-boom.
Instead, they messed with the nature of reality itself so badly the whole dam universe shrugged.
Everything associated with the Radium war, past and present got shuffled off to a parallel world. Back home all that super science suddenly got knocked back to the drawing board and all radiation does there anymore is treat cancer and heat up water in power plants, that and make people sick.
Over here a bunch of people found themselves in inverted world, nobody is sure why, what was the lands are depths filled with salt water and the seas are dry land and mountains. And this ain't the first time people and things got shuffled off here, there are ruins from a time when magic must have worked back on earth that was, then they must have done something that upset the natural order just like we did to get it all sent here.
Those that got sent here last time lasted a while and built some things before they all vanished. Worries folk a mite that whatever made the old ones go away might be coming for us one day. Things were pretty bad right after the division. There were more monsters and mutants then people. One good thing about that is it did make people pull together.
The Unification was a time of building up and civilizing. The Atlantic Republic pulled together most of the surviving Americans and their allies from over in Europe, its mostly just liberty city and some outposts and settlements, but we do a pretty good job of giving people a place to live free in relative safety.
But there are other people out there, the mad scientists, the evil overlords, the bandit chiefs, and even some of them new fangled black magicians, all looking to take things away that from them that earned it.
The first generation born here is all grown up now, time for them to take a stand and be the big damn heroes.
Characters Pantheon Jones A dedicated man with a ready smile, always eager to lend a hand. There is something about him though that's just not right. One thing is certain - his real name isn't "Pantheon" but he doesn't answer to anything else. He believes in a whole pantheon of gods, practically a god for every occasion and he strives to one day be part of someone else's pantheon.
Rusty Collins A tough guy that doesn't really like to talk much and who seems out of place around other people. He obviously has a military background but now pilots and does field research for various enterprises.
B.A.M.U. 162 Biological Assassination Mutant Unit's (B.A.M.U.) are not meant to have individual personality traits nor to disobey their handlers or direct orders. When not activated for a mission they are to remain dormant but somehow B.A.M.U. 162 starting showing signs of individuality and higher brain activity when dormant. He began to do something that no other unit has ever done in the history of this Tyrantia special force, desire freedom. Breaking rank and killing his handlers along with his squad 162 fled to Atlantian Republic in hope to find his freedom. He is still trying to adjust to life in general. Referring to himself as 162 got even more strange looks than using the name Bamu so he has kept Bamu as his name. The Tryantia government is hunting Bamu to dissect him and find out what caused this.
Jack Jones Captain of the fast response team (aka, a soldier)
Briefing Mission 120888EF1. The Journeyman platform at the Namorioff Settlement went offline at 4:03 AM this morning. All attempts to contact the settlement have failed. The prime objective of the Science Patrol agents will be to check on the safety of the inhabitants of the settlement and render aid as needed. The secondary objective is to find out what the heck Dr. Namorioff has been up too.
Dr. Evander Namorioff was a fellow at the Institute's dimensional physics lab until his sudden retirement two years ago, he has since built his remote private estate on the shores of lake Nantucket in the north and staffed it with foreign workers from the outlands.
The only outside contact that he has had is the frequent visits from his daughter Ravenna Namorioff who has expressed concern about her father's private research.
Inhabitants of the settlement: Dr Evander Namorioff. Otto. Dr Namorioff's personal assistant and bodyguard. Ravenna Namorioff. The daughter who was logged as having used a platform to travel to the settlement two days ago. Several unidentified staff members.
Issued Gear 1 Triumph class flying transport. 1 PP Rodgers gyrojet pistol for all agents as needed. 2 clips of flechett ammo 1 clip of armor piercing ammo 1 clip of tranquilizer darts. 1 B class trauma kit.
Summary The team arrived with Dimitri disguised as a Traveler corporation repair man, Rusty Collins ( Collins: jazz slang for the trumpet.) as his driver and Dr Jones as a red cross volunteer paramedic. Jack Carson was dropped off a mile away to make his way up on foot as back up. Dr Namorioff's settlement show signs of being abandoned and some members of the team spotted sign of an underwater structure underneath Lake Nantucket. On landing signs of an arc wielder being used in the hanger was the only sign of life.
On attempting to enter the hanger the team came under the attack of a tall Frank who only halted on the arrival of a female Russian sergeant and her team of Hominids. Sergeant Ivanov explained that the Frank, Otto had only attacked them because he was still trigger happy as a result of an attack two days before, she then repeatedly attempted to lead the team into the geodesic dome that was the center of the complex to meet with Prof. Namorioff.
Meanwhile up above, Jack Carson found himself in a conversation with a Grand Empire of the Overlord Underman named Yetterium, who claimed that the others were walking into a trap where they would be "Taken" like the rest of Yetterium group had been trapped. Already wary and now warned of a trap, the team quickly took down Ivanov and her team, while up above Carson took down the Underman after he attempted to seize the scout's rifle.
With Otto barricaded within the hanger and wary of entering any of the other building, the team regrouped back to their Triumph flying car. While planning their next move, Dr Jones heard Otto yelling from the hanger, Jack Carson leapt and scrambled to the roof and yelled that Otto was being dragged off before breaking a sky light and leaping down to the wing of the plane, breaking a wooded support in the process. Collins and the doctor opened the hanger door and headed into a back room finding a flight of stairs heading down to a tunnel running under the entire complex.
They entered the tunnels and followed them to the entrance of the boathouse, discovering one of the housemaids saying she had been hiding out since the attack, Carter heard a noise from above and began to climb the stairs when the doctor acted on a hunch and shock the housemaid, finally knocking her out, only to have her unconscious body continue to flail at him until Collins knocked her to the ground.
Up above Carter found himself in a battle against a elderly cook whom he finally trapped in a round life float and freed the bound daughter of Prof. Namorioff who explained that she had been tied up for some time. Examining the housemaid found a segmented dark orange plant embedded in her neck, the plant smelled of ammonia so a search of the hanger provided a bleach based de-greasing agent which slowly killed the plant on contact.
At this time two plant dominated undermen began to close on the patrol down the service tunnel and firing on Carson on sight, a few bursts of fire and a solid load of buckshot from Collins finished them off. On interviewing Ravanna Namorioff they discovered that the greenhouses were filled with the orange plants so they decided to get above them with the Triumph flying car and shoot out the skylight windows to expose the plants to unfiltered light.
Upon firing they found Otto and the remaining Underman attempting to disable the Mag levs on the Triumph and quickly landed, the underman shot and a bottle of bleach cleanser broken over Otto's head. Now freed, Otto eventually led them to the entrance of Namorioff's underwater lad, after sending a few tear gas grenades down his ventilation shaft they entered the observation room to find his lab filled with moving plants and a dimensional portal to the plants homeworld.
After deciding to flood the lab with water to short out the generators, they next spotted small beings far off beyond the portal using flamethrowers on the mind controlling plant. Fearing the beings, Carson decided to shot one of the generators partially disabling the portal, just then the missing overman, Berlin dropped from the ceiling to block the doorway.
After receiving several volleys of shots from Collins and Carson, Berlin dropped just as Namorioff shut down the last generator. Captain Jack Jones arrived with a Quick response team to finish destroying the last of the plants and tracked down the last infected victim.

Keith: We throw the grenade into the air vent. GM: Let's see, Tim was there.
Mick: He likes that flamethrower a little too much. I need one.
