The game is pretty "lite" to start with, at least in terms of rule. There's a lot of flavor text and examples in the book which fill out the book and make the page count as high as it is (plus it's digest sized). The pdf version of the book is a good, cheaper alternative because it's all in B&W and so printing it yourself is cheap.
