I just received a 'new unused' copy of this and was wondering if I was missing any bits. I have the first edition and it came with some cardboard chits. There were chits for ships, for crew, for aliens and various chits to use on the starship combat pannels. The box I just opened did have some chits but they appear to all be for starship combat. Are there no chits for crew etc?

I'll have to check my copy when I get home - unless someone else can answer before that time...

Thanks Samuel!

I have another question. I was under the understanding (I got over the overstanding a long time ago), that this included the Star Trek III Tactical Combat rules. The boxed set I just opened does have some tactical combat rules but they aren't the Star Trek III branded ones. This is a full colour book titled Star Trek Starship Tactical Combat Simulator with 2003A as the item code on the top right. The STIII rules appear to be multiple black and white covered books. I've also confirmed that the counters are from this as well over on the BGG side of things: Star Trek: Starship Tactical Combat Simulator

I'm just wondering if I got what I actually paid for here.

You did. There were no character chits in 2E, just those for the starship game. See http://www.anzwers.org/free/fasa/TheFasaListing/index1.html#.... Keep in mind that there were multiple printings of 2E over 4 or so years, and (I think) two printings of the Deluxe version. The early one released in 1985 included the "Star Trek III Starship Combat Role Playing Game" that I think you're referring to.

The STRPG is a challenge to collect because of variations like this!

Yep, I have the same as you have, though mine isn't in as nice a condition.

Robert is right, no character chits.
