You have no expertise but your "common" understanding is that the shuttle would be knocked off during the jump process and there would be a very slight increase in the chance of a misjump due the to the unbalancing effect.

"That little shuttle is going to dock with the large Aslan ship within minutes. It's possible they have enough able bodies to power up the derelict ship in which case we may be screwed. I say we blast that shuttle to dust, or at least cripple the big ship where it sits. It's a floating graveyard anyway."
I check the computers for what kind of weapons we have at our disposal.

You can see that the "New Horizon" has eight multi-mount turrets that are designed for anti-pirate defence, nothing seriously offensive, such as missiles.
The shuttle has stopped at the Aslan vessel and appears to be docking.
