I have a few questions about the wizard description:
- "Wand of Accuracy Power": Does this mean I own a Wand of Accuracy, or that I could use a Wand of Accuracy, or that I can use a wand once per fight? - Staff Implement and Wand Implement - what are these? A basic staff and a basic wand without powers? Or something that I can hold a staff or wand with?

You can use a wand at any time, but once per fight you can add 2 to an attack with a wand. You can do this even after a missed roll, and I'm happy to tell you whether or not it would help.

They're basic pieces of equipment, a wand and a staff. You can cast spells without them, at no penalty, but later your character might acquire magical versions that augment his attack and have other benefits. The Wand of Accuracy power must be used with a wand. Both implements require only one hand. The staff can also function as a quarterstaff, for which purpose two hands are required.

Thanks. I posted a small background story in the IC thread. Is it OK like that? This early in the game, I assume I can still change it if that is needed until we really get underway.

Nathan Faringray has heard of you by name somehow. Either you performed some heroic feat of note, or he thinks you did. Please consider adding something along those lines, but if you prefer not to, it's not a huge deal. Perhaps you received a different note.

No, I will respond. I know how. But I wanted some feedback on the background first, in case I needed to change it. But it seems OK like it is, so I'll continue soon.

pdunwin wrote: I have some links in the IC thread. I know HTML, but couldn't get the links to hide neatly behind words using the markup language this site uses. If anyone knows it, I'd appreciate a pointer. For all I know, that feature has been disabled to keep people from clicking on malicious links. No it works. Like this.
Quote the message to see how I did it. Basically, you write , followed by the text, followed by . Note that you cannot use "smaller-than" or "greater-than" symbols in posts.

Thanks. I thought I tried that for the urls, but maybe I left something out, or had quotes around the url itself. Fixed now.

I'm waiting on a reply or other action from Vapor11. I'll wait to hear until tomorrow and then we'll need to move on.
By the way, in case I wasn't clear, the message calls for you to show up the next morning, not immediately.

Ok, I've got a fair bit to think about. I might not be able to give you all answers to how Faringray knows you, since I wrote the note ahead of your backgrounds, but I'll take up the challenge as best I can. I'll try to have something up tomorrow.

Languages
I forgot to mention about the languages the characters speak.
All of the characters speak Common, the more or less universal tongue in the world. In addition:
Thromgood speaks Dwarven. Riclamin speaks Elven and Dragonic, the language of dragons and dragon-like creatures. Alexander speaks Draconic. Zanroar speaks Goblin. Xyrlynn speaks Goblin.
I don't know if any of these will be handy, but it's another detail for you.
Working on the next IC post.

Is there a way to add to a thread other than replying to a specific post?

My general approach to this game is that I don't mind what you know out of character. I trust you not to use the information in character without good reason. I personally have a broad definition of "good reason," so I leave it to you whether you want to use out of character information.
For this reason, if I enclose something in spoiler blocks, it's because I know that sometimes people don't WANT to know things out of character that they wouldn't know in. So, I try to respect that boundary, but if you're curious, go ahead and read what's hidden, even if it's not directed at you.

I'm hearing two for the shorter route, and two who would take either route. Do I have that right? Shall I begin describing your progress along the shorter route?

Are you pondering what I'm pondering Pinky?
I think so, Brain, but if we have nothing to fear but fear itself, why does Eleanor Roosevelt wear that spooky mask?

Sorry, I seem to have not been subscribed to the IC thread...got it covered now.

Update in work. I'm already having to deviate from what I had prepared so it's taking a bit more thought than I thought. That's how roleplaying can be, though.

Question: Xyrlynn just "placed" some traps in the gully and on the bridge, but I assume that is moderator's work. I assume she just has to announce that she tries to detect traps from a distance and then has to roll a Thievery check, or something.
-
-
Yeah I was wondering about that too. Or did you arrange it in PM?

Sorry my first time playing. I wasn't sure when he asked what I saw. What is it I need to do or roll?

I believe after you said you thought you spotted a trap, he would ask for a (insert skill) roll. Then you would roll and he would determine what you saw.
