Oh! Thanks. I knew about the extra points, but not about the 1 to EDU. I'll look over the character sheet a bit later today and make the necessary adjustments.

Oh, did you spend the extra points already then? I didn't do the math. If so, I can add 1 EDU to your character and just update the sheet. If not, well, adjust away and let me know!

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know I didn't forget about you!
I'm sending eric a GM to see if he's still interested in playing and to request him to get his character done by Sunday so we can get started next week. If he isn't interested, what does that leave us with, 4? I think that should be enough to play with.

@RetakeME3 - We deserve a better ending!

Guess that all depends on how hungry Mr. Cthulhu is

Got my character sheet all printed and complete, so I'm ready whenever!

Sweet! Sounds great. I'm excited to see what happens when an Antiquarian and a Dilettant go insane together.

1. Determine Characteristics -Roll 3d6 five times and apply the results as you wish to STR, CON, POW, DEX, and APP -Roll 2d6+6 once each for SIZ and INT -Roll 3d6+3 for EDU -SAN is POW X5
2. Determine Characteristic Rolls -INT X5 is Idea roll -POW X5 is Luck roll -EDU X5 is Know roll -Add STR to SIZ and I will apply that total to a table to give you youru Damage Bonus. 3. Determine Derived Characteristic POints. -HP is the average of CON and SIZ rounded up. -MP is equal to your POW -SP starts at current SAN score.
4. Determine Occupation & Skills -Roll 1d10 for Yearly Income and I will apply that to give you a total. - Choose an occupation and applicable primary skills. -Multiply your investigator's EDU by 20, and split those points to your occupation skills only, however you wish. Skills max out at 99. -Multiply your investigator's INT by 10. These are the personal interest points and can increase any skill except Cthulhu Mythos.
5.Figure out what weapons your character should have.
6. Figure out your character story, colleges, degrees, birthplace, etc. -Marks, scars and mental disorders will occur during play -Minimum age is EDU+6. For every ten years older you make your investigator, add a point of EDU and allot an additional 20 occupation points. For every ten years above 40, subtract your choice of 1 STR, 1 CON, 1 DEX, or 1 APP. So, let's get this started -- I'm keeping things in order Name: Francis O'Blarney Occupation: Clergyman Birthplace: Boston Age: 55 STR: ealdrich previously rolled 3d6 = (5 + 4 + 2) = 11CON: ealdrich previously rolled 3d6 = (3 + 1 + 3) = 7POW: ealdrich previously rolled 3d6 = (6 + 5 + 2) = 13DEX: ealdrich previously rolled 3d6 = (1 + 2 + 3) = 6APP: ealdrich previously rolled 3d6 = (1 + 2 + 6) = 9(Oooo, sickly and clumsy. Not a good combo) SIZ: ealdrich previously rolled 2d6+6 = (5 + 6) + 6 = 17INT: ealdrich previously rolled 2d6+6 = (3 + 2) + 6 = 11EDU: ealdrich previously rolled 3d6+3 = (3 + 5 + 4) + 3 = 15SAN: 65 Idea: 55 Luck: 65 Know: 75 STR + SIZ: 28 HP: 12 MP: 13 SP: 65 Income: ealdrich previously rolled 1d10 = (9) = 9That was the easy stuff. More added throughout the day.
Ok, finally back -- sadly that day I said I'd be adding more stuff a family member had a heart attack, so things got thrown into a bit of disarray. Right now I'm in the middle of running a con -- some free time! (at 4 am!)
EDU * 20 == 300 INT * 10 == 110 Skill:
Accounting: 10 (base) + 40 == 50 History: 20 + 40 == 60 Library Use: 25 + 40 == 65 Listen: 25 + 40 == 65 Other Language (Latin): 1 + 20 == 21 Persuade: 15 + 40 == 55 Psychology: 5 + 40 == 45 any one other skill (Law): 5 + 40 == 45
Own Language (English): 75
Fist/Punch: 50 + 20 == 70 Grapple: 25 + 40 == 65 Head Butt: 10 + 20 == 30 Kick: 25 + 10 == 35 Occult: 5 + 20 == 25
No weapons other than the ones he has naturally. Stil need damage bonus and income.
Born into poverty in a rough Irish neighborhood in Boston, Francis grew up having to scrap for everything. Knowing there had to be a better world out there, Francis found his way out of poverty via the church.
Still, Francis' rough and tumble way never endeared him to those higher up, and his penchant for the bottle ensured he never rose above the rank of Priest. Still, he was a man of the people and got along with all sundry sorts, and his penchant for standing up for the "common man" made him popular with his parishioners.
Francis has an interest in the occult, though he's never said why. He's not involved with it in any way, but knows far more than typical, even for a priest. It's also the root of his penchant for drinking more than he should.
As to Francis' connection to Rupert Merriweather, neither of them will comment how, though they do not deny, knowing each other.
Also, just notice the age/stat thing -- I can modify as needed (since his EDU is reasonably high and his stats are low we could say it's already reflected in the scores above -- it was my reasoning for putting his age up there in the first place).

So, basic rules. It's pretty simple:
Roll a d100, if you roll under the skill you're attempting, you succeed. When there are opposed rolls, it gets applied to the Resistance Table (which I will be posting in a bit for reference).
The first time a skill is used successfully, it's gets a check by it. If we play long enough to advance characters, I'll periodically call of an experience roll on all checked skills. If you roll over the current skill level, it improves. If it rolls equal or under, it does not.
That's pretty much it. I'm going to post the Resistance Table and a Combat Reference sheet in the next couple of posts and then we'll be set to go.
