It looks like a subtle change happened overnight in how Geek Rating is calculated. Fiasco is the new #1 game.

If anyone disagrees with this change, please feel free to send me your complete Call of Cthulhu collection, as well as a good game group to play with, and I will do my best to weigh in on the issue

Seriously though, how long has CoC been number one? I've been coming to the site regularly since late 2011, and I think it's been #1 that whole time.

Otherwise, it's merely an interesting change.

If this had happened on the BGG-side ratings, there would be a huge uproar with threads and Geeklists arguing over the merits of games and ratings themselves.

Here's hoping everyone on RPGG can keep calm and carry on

For those that don't know about the Ratings... you can select the Browse menu above and select RPG or RPG Item to see the rankings of your selection. In this case:

http://rpggeek.com/browse/rpg

And yes, CoC has been #1 for almost as long as RPG Geek has been around!

We did an episode of Play on Target a couple of months ago looking at the RPG ratings and which games were in the top ten. Episode 3: What makes Call of Cthulhu, Fiasco, Apocalypse World, and Deadlands worthy of a top 10 spot?

The rioting seems to be pretty minimal over here by me. Only a few windows smashed. The police have put down the dimensional shambler and people seem to be going on about their business.

Well, I got a quote from Cthaeghya about this:

"Meh, Cthulhu gets too much credit as it is, the jerk."

Call of Cthulhu always ends up in some sort of fiasco for the characters whereas players can play Call of Cthulhu games with Fiasco.

Things always go full circle in the elder gods forsaken non-euclidean world...

In other news, Cthulhu himself was unavailable for comment. His publicist had only this brief announcement:

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Altough Fiasco is cool as well. Plus they have The Bookhounds of London so Cthulhu is still partly on the number one spot.

When I kept an eye on the top 25 rpg's, well just before: Mouse Guard was on the number 1 spot for quit a while. And then Dresden files took it for a month or two as well.

Hover over "Browse" - a drop down menu appears. Tough luck if you're on a touch-screen device

It works on iOS (iTouch, iPhone and iPad) devices just fine. A quick tap acts like a mouse hover.

Happiness and a 10 rating are compulsory.

Would love to try that game.
