Your Selling Point
Looks like we have a selling point for your turn:
The Maverick wrote: Movie: 1C Budget/Demo: 4Z Selling Point: Enslaved Mimes
So I remove the chosen card from the archive and slide the others up and draw a replacement for it: 3C
This means our new game state looks like the following for my turn:
The Archive Pos. 1: 3Y Pos. 2: 6A Pos. 3: 3A Pos. 4: 4A Pos. 5: 2A Pos. 6: 3C
MY MOVIES MY MOVIE#1: 2Y: He Said, She Zed “Death is just the beginning… of love” $260 Million Selling Point 1: 5Z: Zombies! Selling Point 2: 5X: Ends with a big wedding Selling Point 3: 1B: Bad Dubbing

YOUR MOVIE#3: 1C Selling Point 1: 3B: Talking animals Selling Point 2: 4Z: Enslaved Mimes Selling Point 3:
My Turn
This doesn't seem like the best time to add an A or Y selling point to my partially finished dream sequence film with only a few actors, but maybe I should just gamble big and add the 6C to it. Well, I'm not a fake highly paid movie exec for nothing. We're going all in on this movie with something big and flashy, but what could be most successful? Zombies are played out, aliens are so three turns ago, and mimes are really oversaturated at the moment...
You know what, we'll just get some famous director and pay him a lot of money to figure it out. I'm sure "Michael Bay" will know how to turn this movie about two actors and a dream sequence into something the masses will enjoy.
Of course, with Michael Bay, it's probably best to reboot some 80s or 90s property. Maybe HeMan? Maybe Voltron? Maybe ALF? Yeah, those all sound fine, but I understand there's some movie with only two actors called "My Dinner with Andre" from around then. Sounds like it could use a soft reboot, but maybe with some different characters. Fortunately, Michael's way ahead of me.
"My Dinner with Optimus" Do Transformers dream of PRIME rib?
Sounds like a winner to me! I remove the 6C from the archive and replace it with: 6Y
The Archive Pos. 1: 3Y Pos. 2: 6A Pos. 3: 3A Pos. 4: 4A Pos. 5: 2A Pos. 6: 6Y
MY MOVIE#2: 4Y: My Dinner with Optimus "Do Transformers dream of PRIME rib?" Selling Point 1: 1B: Only Two Actors Selling Point 2: 4Z: Surreal Dream Sequence Selling Point 3: 6C: Michael Bay
MY MOVIE#3: 1X Selling Point 1: Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:
YOUR MOVIES YOUR MOVIE#1: 2Z Selling Point 1: Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:
YOUR MOVIE#2: 2X: Motorbike Lawyer: In space $350 Million Selling Point 1: 3X: Aliens Selling Point 2: 4Y: Simon Pegg on a motorbike Selling Point 3: 5A: The Slow Evacuation of Earth
YOUR MOVIE#3: 1C Selling Point 1: 3B: Talking animals Selling Point 2: 4Z: Enslaved Mimes Selling Point 3:
So now it is time to release "My Dinner with Optimus" to the moviehungry public. Will they like it? What do I draw?
The market demographics are for 1B, 4Z, and 5C, which lead to the following modifiers added to base 4:
B+Z+C = 2+3+1 = 6
This is added to a base value of 4, so I will draw 10 cards, which end up being:
4C = 4 5Y = 0 6Z = 6 5C = 5 6B = 6 6C = 6x3 = 18 4Z = 4x3 = 12 2C = 2 6X = 0 5B = 5 Shuffle the discard into the deck
Wow, so a pretty big hit. The total is 58, which is a sum of $580 million. I guess Michael Bay knows how to create a winner.
Once more I need to adjust the market for the different card draws (the matches all decreasing by 1, and the nonmatches increasing their letters by 1).
A+0 B2 C4 X+1 Y+1 Z2
So the new market conditions are:
Your Next Selling Point
Now it's time for you to make the choices for your turn again. Once more, I'll ask you to add in the comments your choice of movie, budget/demographic, and selling point text together.
So valid choices for movie are: 2Z 1C
Valid choices for selling point budget/demographic pairs are: 1Y 2A 3A 4A 5A 6Y
As for the idea text, once again it can be anything you want!
For instance you could suggest the following... Movie: 2Z Budget/Demo: 2A Idea: Marvel / DC cross over
I look forward to seeing your suggestions!

Your Selling Point
The votes are in, and your chosen selling point for movie 1C is:
3B: Talking animals
So I remove the chosen card from the archive and slide the others up and draw a replacement for it: 4A
This means our new game state looks like the following for my turn:
The Archive Pos. 1: 3Y Pos. 2: 6A Pos. 3: 3A Pos. 4: 3Z Pos. 5: 5Z Pos. 6: 4A
MY MOVIES MY MOVIE#1: 2Y: He Said, She Zed “Death is just the beginning… of love” $260 Million Selling Point 1: 5Z: Zombies! Selling Point 2: 5X: Ends with a big wedding Selling Point 3: 1B: Bad Dubbing

YOUR MOVIE#3: 1C Selling Point 1: 3B: Talking animals Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:
My Turn
I think my movie with only two actors probably will get pretty boring unless we punch it up a bit, so I pick the Z card in the 4th archive position (so 4Z selling point) and decide to spend four times as much on a "Surreal Dream Sequence." The moviegoing public likes random, flashy, "meaningful" imagery, I'm pretty sure.
I discard the Z card chosen and slide the archive cards up and add a new card to the archive: 2A. This gives us the current game state of:
The Archive Pos. 1: 3Y Pos. 2: 6A Pos. 3: 3A Pos. 4: 5Z Pos. 5: 4A Pos. 6: 2A
MY MOVIES MY MOVIE#1: 2Y: He Said, She Zed “Death is just the beginning… of love” $260 Million Selling Point 1: 5Z: Zombies! Selling Point 2: 5X: Ends with a big wedding Selling Point 3: 1B: Bad Dubbing
MY MOVIE#2: 4Y Selling Point 1: 1B: Only Two Actors Selling Point 2: 4Z: Surreal Dream Sequence Selling Point 3:
MY MOVIE#3: 1X Selling Point 1: Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:
YOUR MOVIES YOUR MOVIE#1: 2Z Selling Point 1: Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:
YOUR MOVIE#2: 2X: Motorbike Lawyer: In space $350 Million Selling Point 1: 3X: Aliens Selling Point 2: 4Y: Simon Pegg on a motorbike Selling Point 3: 5A: The Slow Evacuation of Earth
YOUR MOVIE#3: 1C Selling Point 1: 3B: Talking animals Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:
And Now: Your Turn Again
Now it's time for you to make the choices for your turn again. This time, I'll ask you to add in the comments your choice of movie, budget/demographic, and selling point text together.
So valid choices for movie are: 2Z 1C
Valid choices for selling point budget/demographic pairs are: 1Y 2A 3A 4Z 5A 6A
As for the idea text, once again it can be anything you want!
For instance you could suggest the following... Movie: 1C Budget/Demo: 1Y Idea: Board Game Product Placement

Welcome back to our let's play. The votes have determined your next movie selling point will be on the 1C movie and have a budget/demographic pair of 3B. But what will the selling point actually be? There are three suggested options, so please vote for any you like.
When you have your votes in, I'll update the archive and market and take my next turn.

The Release
Welcome back to our Big Picture let's play. Last time you voted for the title of your first movie, and the winner is:
Motorbike Lawyer: In Space Selling Point 1: 3X: Aliens Selling Point 2: 4Y: Simon Pegg on a motorbike Selling Point 3: 5A: The Slow Evacuation of Earth
Makes about a much sense as most movies released nowadays, so I am sure it will be a big hit.
Also, with the removal of a card from the archive, we need to update it with a new card and see the new state of the market. The card drawn is 3Z, so no real effect on this movie's release. In fact, Z is already at a market value of 3, so there's no change to the market at all!
So now we see how many cards you will all draw.
The market demographics are for 3X, 4Y, and 5A, which lead to the following modifiers added to base 4:
X+Y+A = 41+2 = 5
This is added to a base value of 4, so you will draw 9 cards, which end up being:
1B = 0 5A = 5x3 = 15 3B = 0 5X = 5 3X = 3x3 = 9 1A = 1 1Z = 0 shuffle the discard into a new deck 1Y = 1 4X = 4
So this was a pretty big hit, bigger than mine. The total is 35 (well over the budget of the selling points total of 12). This means Motorbike Lawyer: In Space made $350 million dollars at the box office. Maybe this is the start of a new franchise?
So as it stands, you are in the lead since your total revenue exceeds mine, but we both still have two movies left to make.
For now, I need to adjust the market for the different card draws (the matches all decreasing by 1, and the nonmatches increasing their letters by 1).
A2 B+2 C+0 X3 Y1 Z+1
So the new market conditions are:
My Turn

YOUR MOVIE#2: 2X: Motorbike Lawyer: In space $350 Million Selling Point 1: 3X: Aliens Selling Point 2: 4Y: Simon Pegg on a motorbike Selling Point 3: 5A: The Slow Evacuation of Earth
YOUR MOVIE#3: 1C Selling Point 1: Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:
I am going to go cheap on my next movie and pick the first card to get a 1B selling point. How cheap? Well, actors cost a lot of money, so this movie will have "Only Two Actors." Definitely going to be a winner.
Sliding the archive up, I add a new card (5Z) and reset the market based on it.
The new game state is therefore:
The Archive Pos. 1: 3Y Pos. 2: 6A Pos. 3: 4B Pos. 4: 3A Pos. 5: 3Z Pos. 6: 5Z
MY MOVIE#2: 4Y Selling Point 1: 1B: Only Two Actors Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:
MY MOVIE#3: 1X Selling Point 1: Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:
YOUR MOVIES YOUR MOVIE#1: 2Z Selling Point 1: Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:

Back to You...
It is your turn again. There are two movies you can pick from and six cards in the archive so vote for your favorite. Importantly, you should also write in your preference for the first selling point's text for this new movie in the comments. I look forward to all your suggestions!

Looks like we have a selected selling point and moreover it completes your first movie! The final film consists of the following selling points:
Selling Point 1: 3X: Aliens Selling Point 2: 4Y: Simon Pegg on a motorbike Selling Point 3: ??: The Slow Evacuation of Earth
So in the comments it is now time to name this movie. Please leave your suggested title and in my next entry we'll vote on the winner and release your first film!
Also feel free to give a short plot synopsis (let's keep it to two sentences max) or just a funny tagline so we can give the movie a little more character. It might help your chances in the vote.
Also as of the time of this entry, the budget and target demographic are tied, so you should also place your vote for how much money should be spent to realize the slow evacuation of Earth and which audience demographic letter is likely to enjoy it.

Once again its time to vote for the next selling point. We have two contenders:
The Slow Evacuation of Earth Smellovision
Either one sounds to me like part of a winning forumla, but will it be? Below select the movie / selling point pair you most prefer. Remember if it is added to the Aliens / Simon Pegg film, then that movie will get released forthwith, so our next entry would be me asking you for suggestions for movie titles and taglines.
You also need to vote on the selling point's budget and target demographic.
Bear in mind the market looks like the following:
Also recall that the movie with the most progress has the following current selling points:
Selling Point 1: 3X: Aliens Selling Point 2: 4Y: Simon Pegg on a motorbike Selling Point 3:
So with the current market, that's bonus for X (+4) and a minus for Y (1). Of course a market reset could affect either just before release too.

As the current votes stands, it looks like movie 2X will get the following selling point to add to its "Aliens" idea:
4Y: Simon Pegg on a Motorbike
Discarding the archive card you chose, the board shifts and we add the 4A card. This pushes A into a new market value. The new game state is below:
The Archive Pos. 1: 6B Pos. 2: 2B Pos. 3: 3Y Pos. 4: 6A Pos. 5: 4B Pos. 6: 4A
MY MOVIES MY MOVIE#1: 2Y Selling Point 1: 5Z: Zombies! Selling Point 2: 5X: Ends with a big wedding Selling Point 3:
MY MOVIE#2: 4Y Selling Point 1: Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:
MY MOVIE#3: 1X Selling Point 1: Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:
YOUR MOVIES YOUR MOVIE#1: 2Z Selling Point 1: Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:
YOUR MOVIE#2: 2X Selling Point 1: 3X: Aliens Selling Point 2: 4Y: Simon Pegg on a motorbike Selling Point 3:
YOUR MOVIE#3: 1C Selling Point 1: Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:
At this point the market for Z and X are pretty good, so I think I will finish off my Zombie / Wedding movie. I don't want to spend a lot of money, and we want to appeal to the "B" crowd, so I'll pick the first card in the archive to get a 1B selling point and just go with some "Bad Dubbing" as the idea behind it. Did I mention it was a French film, and I know my target audience isn't going to this movie to read.
So, I need a name for my badly dubbed Zombie movie that ends with a wedding. I had thought of calling this romcom Zed and Breakfast and explaining how a man fell in love with a lady who ran a hotel but was ashamed of his terrible secret that he was undead, but I decided with the dubbing to go with an even stupider title: He Said, She Zed and “Death is just the beginning… of love.”
My movie is now ready for release, but first I have to update the market. I hope B, X, and Z don't collapse...
I draw a 3A, so A decreases and my movie's fortunes will be determined by the market forces I expected. The current state is the following:
The Archive Pos. 1: 2B Pos. 2: 3Y Pos. 3: 6A Pos. 4: 4B Pos. 5: 4A Pos. 6: 3A
MY MOVIES MY MOVIE#1: 2Y: He Said, She Zed “Death is just the beginning… of love” Selling Point 1: 5Z: Zombies! Selling Point 2: 5X: Ends with a big wedding Selling Point 3: 1B: Bad Dubbing
MY MOVIE#2: 4Y Selling Point 1: Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:
MY MOVIE#3: 1X Selling Point 1: Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:
YOUR MOVIES YOUR MOVIE#1: 2Z Selling Point 1: Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:
YOUR MOVIE#2: 2X Selling Point 1: 3X: Aliens Selling Point 2: 4Y: Simon Pegg on a motorbike Selling Point 3:
YOUR MOVIE#3: 1C Selling Point 1: Selling Point 2: Selling Point 3:
Now I release my film. You can see the particulars on how a movie release works back where I described the rules, but basically I see what the modifier for each of my letters is (B,X,Z) and use the 1st one as each only appears once on my movie.
Therefore B+X+Z = 2+4+2
This total is added to a base value of 4, so I will draw 12 cards from the deck and add the numbers on any matching suits (tripling those that match a suit and number of my selling point as I brought out my exact target demographic).
The twelve cards I draw are:
5C = 0 4A = 0 6C = 0 5B = 5 3C = 0 4C = 0 5Z = 3x5 = 15 5Y = 0 2C = 0 6Z = 6 6Y = 0 2A = 0
So... no X fans. I guess the wedding wasn't a very popular selling point, but the Z rewards are quite high! There was even a small amount of bad dubbing fans who turned up.
The total I get is 26, which exceeds my budget of 11 (5+5+1) so it is not a flop (thankfully) and I earn a total of $260 million dollars on He Said, She Zed. I smell Oscar...
I also adjust the market postrelease. Each matching suit goes down by 1 and each nonmatching suit drawn goes up by 1.
A = +2 B = 1 C = +5 X = 0 Y = +2 Z = 2
It is now your turn. Please suggest your ideas for selling points below and when next we convene, you will all vote the most popular selection!

It's time to place your votes for the next selling point among your movies. Since we have two candidates, I think I'll compress the poll as follows. You can vote for the pair of idea text and movie together, and then separately vote for which budget / demographic pair is pulled from the archive. That should help avoid the combinatorial explosion we'd get from voting for all three at once.
Our two ideas are: Using imported alien creatures as beasts of burden, as service animals, and as a food source after Earth's animals went mostly extinct. Simon Pegg on a motorbike
The first one of those was directly suggested as a followon to the alien movie, but the votes will tell. Also, that's gotta be the longest selling point I've seen in a game of Big Picture yet! Usually my fellow players stick to one or two word selling points because their handwriting doesn't allow for much more. But in playbyblog we can handle a long idea no problem!
If only we could have Simon Pegg riding circles around these beast of burden aliens, but only one idea will survive to make it in this cutthroat Hollywoodland.
Recall our market looks like the following, in case that helps you make your decision:

Changing Things Up... Maybe
I'm going to step up the pace and do game updates for our game more regularly, aiming for once a day or every two days (in the afternoon or evening usually). I wanted to make sure that you all knew so you should check regularly for an opportunity to vote.
Also, going forward, I think we're going to hold the votes for which card, which selling point budget/demographic pair, and which selling point text together so you can direct whether you want the existing movie to get a certain idea or a new one. We'll see how it goes. This is all uncharted territory!
The Game Continues...
Our Big Picture Let's Play moves along. The votes are in and you all decided to add selling point "3X: Aliens" to your 2X film. I guess my movie has some stiff competition.
Repositioning the archive cards and drawing a new card for position 6 (6A) gives us this new game state:
The Archive Pos. 1: 6B Pos. 2: 2B Pos. 3: 3Y Pos. 4: 1Y Pos. 5: 6X Pos. 6: 6A

What Does a Zombie Film Need?
OK, now that I am up against a movie about aliens, I am going to need to expand the appeal of my zombie movie. I tried to think what zombies movies are missing, and I think the problem with most of them is that they are really kind of a downer. I'm pretty sure that changing that would be a huge improvement so I think we'll blow a lot of our budget on an expensive wedding scene at the end. That should drive home that we're making a romantic zombie film!
I select card 6X to make selling point "5X: Ends with a big wedding" to my already started movie, which has a pretty big budget at this point! Could be risky, maybe?
The new card in the archive is 4B, so the game state now looks like this:
The Archive Pos. 1: 6B Pos. 2: 2B Pos. 3: 3Y Pos. 4: 1Y Pos. 5: 6A Pos. 6: 4B
MY MOVIES MY MOVIE#1: 2Y Selling Point 1: 5Z: Zombies! Selling Point 2: 5X: Ends with a big wedding Selling Point 3:
