Best of the RPGs Tournament - Second Round Voting
-
The First Round of the tournament is over and we had some excitement. While a flood of voting on the last day of the First Round pushed many of the underdogs out of the race, we did have four upsets. Here are some other interesting facts from the first round:
Biggest blowout: Dungeon World (111 votes) over Barbarians of Lemuria (14 votes)
Biggest upset by seed: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (2nd Edition) (seeded 58) over Pendragon (1st - 5th Editions) (seeded 7)
Biggest upset by % of votes: Eclipse Phase (First Edition) (66 votes) over Deadlands: Reloaded (36 votes)
Closest Match: InSpectres (50 votes) over Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (2nd Edition)
(49 votes)
Matchup with the most votes: Dungeon World over Barbarians of Lemuria (125 total votes)
Matchup with the least votes: The One Ring over Fabled Lands Gamebooks (84 total votes)
Of the 8 "wildcard" teams nominated and voted into the tournament by the Geek community, only one, Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (2nd Edition), made it to the Second Round.
To see the complete First Round voting results, go to this GeekList: Best of the RPGs Tournament - First Round Voting
Below are the 32 RPGs that made it to the Second Round of the Tournament. To see them in a tournament-style bracket, you can go to this website: http://challonge.com/bestoftherpgs. (You don't have to create an account to view the bracket.)
Each RPG's seed number is listed in parentheses after its name in the polls.
Okay, let's vote on our favorite RPGs. Most of us have not played all of these, but you can still vote based on genre, mechanics, description in the database, etc., or even whichever one looks the coolest. The criteria for "best RPG" is totally up to you, but make sure your vote gets heard on all of these!
VOTING IS OVER!!!
Color commentary, reasons for voting one way or the other, and good-natured smack talk are strongly encouraged in the comments beneath the GeekList items.
Good luck to all the RPGs competing in the Second Round, and may the best RPG win!
