100 Swords is a sword based dungeon crawling micro deck builder! Load up with as much as you can carry and run head first into the dungeon, exploring rooms and revealing monsters, all while keeping track of hidden treasures and swords!

During play, you must efficiently play the 5 cards in your hand for any combination of movement, strength, or energy. Movement advances you deeper into the dungeon allowing you to peek at or reveal the cards along the way. Monsters you find can only be defeated with strength. New items (and swords!) are acquired by spending cards in your hand for energy. Many items have effects that will further expand your tactical options as your deck grows.

As you defeat monsters and pick up loot, do your best to remember where everything is hidden. Treasures and slain monsters are worth gold, so get collecting! Once the dungeon has been thoroughly ransacked, or the boss is defeated, whoever has the most gold wins!

Quote:
Roll Saga Baseball is a tabletop baseball game that merges statistical baseball strategy and action. The traditional elements of tabletop baseball reside in game play as the manager builds, manages, and plays a team in the field using player stats, but the game mat transforms into any stadium to bring that ballpark's added dimensions to the game. And not just players and managers make the game super-realistic, but coaches, player agents, and umpires are used to add multiple layers of depth and strategy.

It is playable by 1 or 2 players who take on the roles of owner and manager of their own baseball organization consisting of all 40 players of the full roster. There are many different levels of game play to allow the manager or managers to choose the amount of time that they want to invest in seeing a game, series, or season to its conclusion

Tabletop, 1-6 player spy game set in 1941 Berlin that combines classic mystery elements like Clue, but with a defector.

Setting. At the height of World War II, spies from around the world descended on Berlin, Germany to gain intelligence on military operations. Allied forces from countries including United States, England, and Russia engaged in dangerous clandestine operations, code breaking, and subterfuge. The secrets they obtained thwarted military advancements into Western and Eastern Europe. Now, you, the agent behind enemy lines in Berlin in the early 1940s, seek to decipher the enemy plans, avoid being caught by the Schutzstaffel, and uncover the double agent among your peers.

Gameplay. Operation Berlin is a mystery board game with a defector. The goal is to determine which military operation Nazi Germany is planning through process of elimination. Players move as spies through Berlin obtaining information and avoiding hindrances in the form of roadblocks, security guards, and Schutzstaffel. As an added challenge, players may be double agents trying to prevent the other agents from discovering the German plans. This game combines the mystery style of Clue with the player interaction of Resistance to create a unique and intriguing replaying of history.

Mystery Element: There are 9 possible missions characterized by the country of attack and type of attack. One of the missions is selected at random, unknown to the players, and placed aside as the actual secret mission. A tracking sheet assists players in eliminating possible missions when they find or trade information on what cards are not in the secret mission pile. First player to accurately guess the secret mission wins!

Defector: Based on the number of players there may be 1 or 2 double agents. By randomly drawing the agent and double agents cards at the beginning, no one knows what side the other players are on. This adds a covert element that will have players interacting, accusing, and defending until the truth is known. Double agents may choose at any point in the game to reveal their secret, allowing them to play as the German forces. If the double agent remains incognito, all players may accuse a person of being a double agent and force them to be uncovered. But if they guess wrong the game ends in a German victory!

Stretch Goal for Solo/Coop play:$36,000

Darkrock Ventures

Ends: Tue, Aug 11 2015 9:39 AM CDT.
Base game cost: $39
Delivery expected: Apr 2016
Publisher: Magic Meeple Games / Gamelyn Games

Quote:
DESCRIPTION: Darkrock Ventures is a worker placement game about mining and exporting in a hostile outer space. Players will be controlling a mining company working in harsh conditions to acquire the most credits.

GENERAL INFO: A euro game for 2-5 players that plays in about 30-45 minutes.

THEME: Science Fiction. Space is a hostile environment with a known alien presence. Resources are scarce and it is commonplace for companies to mine asteroids to acquire them. It is known that aliens raid these asteroids and therefore mining companies are geared accordingly in preparation of being attacked. Lives are lost in this line of work daily, but if you run a good crew you can make it out alive and rich!

HOOK: Richly thematic euro incorporating dice and dice manipulation, with worker placement, resource farming and exporting.

WINNING CONDITION: Highest Credits when the end of the game is triggered. Credits are acquired primarily from exporting minerals mined from the asteroid.

MECHANICS: A round begins with rolling a set of Power Dice, these are community dice that players will use in order to successful mine the asteroid. Players then take turns placing workers throughout different space stations and on a mineral rich asteroid.

After all the workers have been placed a third and more volatile Power Die is rolled. A player starts his/her turn by rolling his/her Rig Dice, these represent the a power element of his/her mining equipment that is to be paired with the community Power Dice in order to successfully mine resources from the asteroid. Then he/she resolves all his/her workers. As soon as players begin exporting minerals, hostile alien ships begin patrolling and will attack every round making it more difficult to resolve all the workers successfully.

Throughout the game, players will be increasing their worker count, gaining and spending credits (which are the victory points), gaining additional Rig Dice and acquiring explosive Neutronium bombs to protect them from the alien attacks.

When 3 of the 6 resource nodes on the asteroid are void of minerals the end of the game is triggered. The round is finished and the player with the most credits wins the game.

Description from the publisher:

"When the city was overcome, we thought, 'This is the end.' Then they bombed us, and we were sure it was over. Somehow, I don't know how or why, but somehow we survived the onslaught. There were only a few of us, but we escaped the pit of hell that was the urban wasteland. They always say the suburbs have it better, right? They weren't hit nearly as hard; we've found a sturdy house. It still has a roof and everything. We're hungry, tired, and it's a struggle to hold back the dead from their nightly assaults, but we're still here, we're not going down yet."

Zpocalypse 2: Defend The Burbs is a standalone tower defense-style game, evolved from the original Zpocalypse, a survival board game set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Like the original, two to five players each control their own squad of survivors equipped to the teeth with weapons, food, and items. In this game, your actions as squad leader allow the survivors to choose their tasks on the daily action board. Each choice has limited space and will come with benefits (potential for more supplies) and costs (like all things in the Zpocalypse, it's never pleasant!)

With gained experience, your survivors level up on a variety skills. Rather than picking your path for you as in the original game, now you have the ability to carve out your survival scenario for yourself, but be careful what you wish for.

Perspective

Base game cost: $10
Delivery expected: Jan 2016
Publisher: Minion Games
EU Friendly: No

Quote:
Perspective is a game of logical deduction, memory, and limited knowledge. There are unique sets of rules for two, three, and four players. The winner is the player who, manages to match the colors on the back of their double sided cards with the goal pattern.

Perspective can be played with 2 to 4 players or as a solitaire game.

2-4 player games are played with a hand of 3 cards. Each card is double sided, so when held one side is facing toward the player and the other is facing their opponents. The front side of the cards will determine what actions a player may take. When a card is played, it is placed into the Used Pile with the front side of the card face up.

Each player has a goal card placed in front of them on the table, their objective is to get the Back Side of their hand to match the colors and order of their goal hand. At any point during a player’s turn, they may lay down their 3 cards without tampering to see if their goal is met. If the player’s cards do not match the goal card, they are eliminated from the game.

Delivery expected: Sep 2015
Publisher: PT Games, Inc. / Sideline Strategy Games

Quote:
Payoff Pitch Baseball offers a unique pitcher – batter interaction that realistically replicates the game of baseball on the tabletop. Each at-bat starts on the pitcher card to determine the quality of the pitch and then flows to the batter card to resolve the at-bat. This is all done quickly and effortlessly using either dice and charts or an alternate Fast Action Card (FAC) system.

The dice version of the game uses two six-sided and two ten-sided dice. The Fast Action Card version of the game includes 112 cards. Both the print and PDF versions can be played with either dice or cards (or both if one chooses). The only difference between the versions is one is printed and shipped and the other is downloaded. PDF purchasers will need to supply their own dice, but otherwise receive the same materials printed game purchasers receive.

Each player card is based on the player's actual statistics for a given season and most teams have 32 to 35 players.

Quote:
Pine Tar Baseball - 1973 (PTB), designed by James Formo, is a fun and fast paced dice and card game for 1 or 2 players that brings the 1973 baseball season to life. Ninety percent of plays are resolved in 1 die roll and no play takes more than 2 rolls. A game of Pine Tar Baseball - 1973 can be played in about 18-30 minutes.

The 1973 season is the 4th season being released for Pine tar Baseball. Previous seasons include; 2014, 1884 and 1889. The 1973 season is an intriguing one. Five teams all finished within just 5 games of one another for the NL East title. A replay using Pine Tar Baseball could see any one of those teams taking the division.

Then 1973 was the year that Hank Aaron finished the season just 2 home runs shy of Babe Ruth's record. Aaron would break Ruth's record in April of the following year. Using PTB gives you the opportunity to replay Hank Aaron's historic chase of Base Ruth's all time home run record.

This Expansion picks up where the original game left off. You are an investigator battling the Cthulhu Minions and Horrors in a desperate attempt to defend our world from the insanity that lies Beyond the Veil!

For those new to The Cards of Cthulhu... it is a card game for 1 to 4 players. It uses the same rules for 1 player as it does for 2 to 4 players, so it is a true solitaire game, not a game adapted for solitaire play. When playing with more than one person, you play as a team against the system.

Beyond The Veil expands on the core game and gives you more of everything. More Investigators. More Minions. More Horrors. More Followers. More Items. More Gates. And a New Cult Board for Nyarlathotep!

Additional Minions, Horrors, and Gates are added for each Cult. This gives each Cult a different feel. Cthulhu excels at bringing Horrors into play, Nyarlathotep has an abundance of Gates, and so on.

Beyond The Veil also introduces 2 new types of cards: Investigations and Cult Powers!

Central City: Heroes

Ends: Thu, Aug 27 2015 6:48 AM CDT.
Base game cost: $90
Delivery expected: Jul 2016
Publisher: Clover Games
EU Friendly: Yes

Quote:
Central City: Heroes is a cooperative board game for 1-4 players. Each player takes on the role of a unique Superhero with their own unique powers. Players work together to battle minions, complete objectives, recruit other heroes, and unlock their upgrade cards. This will all lead up to the final showdown with the Superhero's Nemesis. The Players must complete five objectives and defeat the Nemesis in order to win the game. Heroes will accomplish these things by moving around and exploring Central City.

The board consists of 16 interchangeable location hex tiles that make up Central City. Every time you play the city itself will change.

Players will begin by creating their characters. To do so they will get a Superhero Player Board, a Super Power Card and a Secret Identity Card. Combining the Hero Board with the Super Power Card will create the Player's Hero Persona. With 6 Player Boards and 15 Super Power Cards, there are 90 different Hero Personas in the Central City: Heroes Core Set. The Players will also receive their own Secret Identity Card which the game will be trying to force players to reveal.

Are you ready to become a guardian of Central City?

Take the role of escaped mental patients in this new, fully cooperative board game for 1 to 5 players.
Enter the abandoned mental hospital from your worst nighmtmares. Each player controls a different crazy character with his own story and phobias which can become reality in any moment. There is one goal - to escape. But it is not easy when you think that all the staff are the evil monsters and the warden is the worst of them.

Lobotomy is a scenario based adventure/dungeon crawler game. Lobotomy introduces such features as:

big (yes very big) modular board where each module is a different part of the hospital (including outside areas like garden or chapel)
completely different characters, with their own stories and mental illness which define their skills and powers
different monsters, mostly based upon the old pulp horror movies
fight, explore, or learn about your past, but you don't have much time until the warden finds you, and you must be prepared to face him

All characters and monsters have their own awesome miniatures (over 50 in base set).

Star Patrol is the second Pocket Option minigame created as a tribute to the $2.95 hex & counter games from the 70s and 80s. In Star Patrol, you design and build customized ships using chassis, weapons, and special technological breakthroughs to give each design a unique play style. Ships are designed and built in secret, with all design elements (except chassis) remaining secret until each is used for the first time. You will duel your opponent in a deep space arena that may include asteroids, moons, and planets, both as physical obstacles and as gravity wells. There are thousands of possible ship designs to try out, accommodating hundreds of combinations of weapons and upgrades.

Crack of the Bat Baseball (COTB) is a fun and fast paced dice and card game for 1 to 4 players. The game features smooth game play and highly accurate results based on real life stats. The game is intended to be a gateway game, one that avid baseball fans can enjoy while also having a rule set that allows up to 4 people to share a more casual gaming experience.

Thanks to "Seamheads.com Negro Leagues Database - Powered by the Baseball Gauge" for use of the stats that will allow me to portray these athletes as close to their real life potential as possible.

Crack of the Bat Baseball is specifically designed for seasons like the 1934 Negro NL that contain missing strike out data for batters. In 1934, only strike outs by pitchers were recorded for the league. The game designer, James Formo, takes this into account by having strike outs and walks come off the pitchers card. This ensures that the correct number of strike outs are determined for each pitcher and the total league strikeouts will also be accurate.

Game play involves rolling four 10 sided dice each a different color; red, white, blue and green. There are 3 pairings obtained in this way; a blue/white combo, a red/white combo, and a green/white combo. The colored die is always read first for each pairing. This is explained in the campaign video. Play moves from the pitcher card, then to the batter card. If a hit occurs, the location is found off the value of the green white die pair. Any base advancement is also found via the green/ white combo.

Quote:
Crime Lords of Knight City is a cooperative card game in which players are detectives trying to put away a notorious crime lord. You'll do this by solving enough crimes to build a solid case against the crime lord. If too many cases go cold, the crime lord wins and takes over the city.

The basic steps in the game include drawing Badge Cards, using Assets and Solving Crimes.

The Badge cards feature icons that match icons on the crimes. Each turn, you are able to play one of your Badge Cards onto one, or more, of the crimes in your docket. If you are able to match all the icons on a crime, it is solved.

As the game progresses, more and more cases will be opened. If you ever have more than 3 crimes in your docket, you must allow one of those crimes to go cold. If too many crimes go cold, the crime lord wins and the players lose the game.

To win the game, players must solve and close enough cases to build a case against the Crime Lord. Each Crime Lord has its own special ability and a varying number of points required to win and/or lose the game. So, each time you play, the difficulty and challenges will change.

The Networks is a tabletop strategy game from the designer of Bad Medicine, Battle Merchants, and Prolix, in which the players are all running competing television networks. You'll start from humble beginnings to amass the best-possible prime-time lineup and a solid archive of reruns.

The challenge of the game is that your shows will require stars and ads. But some stars perform better on certain kinds of shows, and some ads perform better in certain time slots. You'll be making all sorts of juicy, tricky decisions as you guide your TV network to the top!

Also:
Quote:
It plays equally well from 1 to 5 players. Too many games have optimistic player ranges. Some are 5-player games that really should be 4-player games. Others play like completely different games at different player counts. The Networks scales wonderfully from 1-5 players, providing a consistently fun experience each time.

Yes, the solo mode is really good. Lots of games feature solo modes that are throw-ins, but The Networks' solo mode is just as good as any other player count. That's why it's not a stretch goal. I feel that The Networks' solo mode is a fundamental, core part of the game, so it's baked into the base funding goal.

Quote:
Gloomhaven is a game of Euro-inspired tactical combat in a persistent world of shifting motives. Players will take on the role of a wandering adventurer with their own special set of skills and their own reasons for travelling to this dark corner of the world. Players must work together out of necessity to clear out menacing dungeons and forgotten ruins. In the process they will enhance their abilities with experience and loot, discover new locations to explore and plunder, and expand an ever-branching story fueled by the decisions they make.

This is a game with a persistent and changing world that is ideally played over many game sessions. After a scenario, players will make decisions on what to do, which will determine how the story continues, kind of like a “Choose Your Own Adventure” book. Playing through a scenario is a cooperative affair where players will fight against automated monsters using an innovative card system to determine the order of play and what a player does on their turn.

Essentially, every turn a player will play two cards out of their hand. Each card has a number at the top, and the number on the first card played will determine their initiative order. Each card also has a top and bottom power, and when it is a player’s turn in the initiative order, they determine whether to use the top power of one card and the bottom power of the other, or vice-versa. Players must be careful, though, because over time they will permanently lose cards from their hands. If they take too long to clear a dungeon, they may end up exhausted and be forced to retreat.

Quote:
Star Patrol: Carrier Commander is a project born of a desire to create a tabletop game that would be small, fun, and easy to transport, and would be cheap enough to print, package, and mail anywhere in the world for $3 USD. I worked backwards from that price point, figured out the size and weight limitations to be able to mail it anywhere in the world at the cheapest possible rate, and then set the leftover amount per game as my production budget.

In this two-player tabletop game, each person controls a starcraft carrier and its six squadrons of fighters and bombers. Players take turns launching their squadrons, dogfighting in space, launching torpedoes at the enemy carrier, and escaping back to their own mothership. There, they reload, refuel, and line up on the flight deck to launch on another mission.

Choose your ship and your crew, consisting of a Commander, a Pilot, an Engineer, a Weapons Expert and a Communications Officer/Medic.

All players are factory managers who select and install machines in their factory.

They try connect all machine input and output pipes to the right reservoirs or to other machines, to build the most profitable configuration.

A new machine brings revenue. Other thing you build (reservoirs and connectors (pipelines)) cost 1K money each.

In each game round players may select one machine (from a number of machines equal to the number of players). Simultaneous. So players try to quickly oversee possible connections. But by choosing too quick, you risk taking a machine which doesn't fit well ...
When fitting in a machine, a key tactic is to keep the most and best options for connecting future machines!

After 8 rounds the player with the most money wins.
