Summary Gordangar Kenstrelsson is middle-aged, generous, and traditional. Summary Thandren Longface is the Speaker for the Carls, one of the leaders of the Hindelssons bloodline and a solid and cautious, though greedy farmer. His rival amongst the carls is Ragnar Shaggybreeks, an ally of Kalf Coin-Oak. Thandren does not trust Kalf. Until a year ago, Thandren had been on the Inner Ring of the clan, but Gordangar replaced him with Ovartien Stoneheart to appease the thanes. Thandren and the carls have been generally unhappy since. Thandren's son, Kuldros, has just become the Barley King, and that should have renewed their spirits, if it wasn't for the excessive tribute taken by the Lunars.
