This GeekList is intended to serves as a platform to celebrate the winners of the Love-Spreader of the Week prestigious title in its Mark II version. Previous winner of the award have been recognized in this GeekList.

The award is still handed out to any GeekDo user (thus BGG, VGG, RPGG) who distinguished for outstanding acts of love, gentleness, respect, and otherwise positive traits; however, some changes were introduced in the recognition process to ensure the maximum enjoyment of the award and to minimize issues arisen during Mark I. Specifically:

a) the current Love Spreader of the Week will be in charge for a period of two weeks
b) a Love Spreader of the Week can be nominated again, after a minimum interval time of one year
c) at the end of their reign, and after finding the next in line, the current Love Spreader of the Week will be asked to contact

to verify the next in line has the requirements (i.e. hadn't been elected in the last year) and ask to award them the LSW microbadge.

For all information about the Love Spreader of the Week award, see this awesome wiki. The current LSotW is kindly asked to insert the specific information about their heir in the wiki.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my reign as Love Spreader of the Week, but now it is time to introduce to you, the new Love Spreader:

When it was time for me to choose my successor, James was the first one that came to mind.

Now for a little bit about James, from himself:

So uh... I'm a 34 year old happily married father of one crazy two year old. I'm a part time wedding photographer and full time dad.

Up until having Reuben I grew older but never really grew up. I used to love Urban Exploring, and probably would still do it if I had the time, petrol money, and it was actually... well, safe. It's easier to risk certain doom when you don't have a mini-me at home after all. But in the few years that I enjoyed "urbex" I taught myself photography and it's led to my current part time career, so it's not all asbestos poisoning and rotten floorboards.

Since dropping that I've re-ignited my love for board games. As a teenager I played that fancy new card game Magic The Gathering, and GW's Orkish death race Gorka Morka, but ran out of friends who shared the interest and eventually gave up on it. Then a few years ago some friends hosted us for New Years and brought out Werewolf, the first game I'd played in perhaps ten years. Over the next couple of years I gradually became aware that board games were a thing and eventually decided to grab a copy of Zombicide - The Rue Morgue KS was just delivering and someone wanted to ditch their copy at cost. Since I used to love GW growing up I was looking heavily at miniature games.

I've gradually been able to refine my collection since then and redefine what actually interests me, and importantly my wife Helen, in a game. Zombicide has been sold on but despite being relatively cut-throat with my collection it now hovers steadily around the 50 games mark. Sometimes, given enough people, we even still play Werewolf.

Obviously as some point around that Zombicide era I found BoardGameGeek, and the last year or so has been spent making little 256 pixel graphics. A little miniature project like that of an evening provides a lovely cathartic ease into an evening after a day spent chasing a manic bundle of flailing limbs and bodily fluids around the house.

Thank you to Matthew for nominating me, I don't know what I did to deserve it but nevertheless it means a lot to someone who regularly feels like an outsider looking in, like me.

Which is the lie?
I have visited both control rooms and sat upon the chimney stacks of London's derelict Battersea Power Station.
I have wandered around the abandoned town of Pripyat, the former residence of workers of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, inside the Exclusion Zone.
I have camped inside the subterranean Paris Catacombs among the skeletal remains of over six million people.

Unfortunately my time as Love Spreader of the Week must end, and prising the metaphorical crown from my grip is one of the punniest people on BGG:

While not super-active within the FTL community, Jack's post always make me smile. Or laugh. Or, most commonly, groan. I couldn't think of someone who more frequently cheers me with his contributions.

A someone who doesn't appear to have a serious bone in his body, this interrogation can only go well

Enjoy it Jack!

I was born last century. I live and work in Lisboa (Lisbon, for most of you). I love working with computers, from programming to graphic design, from webpage creation to database administration. Like Jules Verne, I don’t travel but know a lot fair amount about foreign countries.
I started playing boardgames more frequently since 2011. I went to a horror film festival and they had a room with horror-related boardgames. I played some zombies, vampires and werewolves games and began to go to the weekly and monthly meetings of those boardgamers. I discover BGG about the same time and, as they say, the rest is history.

It's time to get this thread going in the right direction and pass the title to someone that represents the spirit in which this award was created.

Maybe he's not so well know around the Realms of the Geek as previous nominees. Still, he's been supporting BGG for almost two decades and is one of the persons working to maintain and expand the love of boardgames and the comunity of gamers in Portugal.

He's always ready to welcome anyone to the weekly, monthly and annual events (that he also organizes and prepares). He's always available to explain, share and play games.

He's an important part of mb and mb.

A little more about Tiago:

Well, it all began in August 1977, when I was born. Since I remember myself that I love games (not only boardgames).
Regarding boardgames, when I was a kid I played cards, chess, monopoly, risk. Later, in 1998 I discovered Catan. Finally, in 2006 a coworker told me that other games existed, like Caylus and Princes of Florence and, most important, he told me about BGG!
Since then, a little bit as a collector, I started buying boardgames and play them with friends. In 2009 I started to take part on Lisbon boardgame meetings and I’m regular on the Wednesday weekly meetings since then.
The most important in boardgames? The people.
Last but not least, I would like to thank Jack for recognizing me for this prize. Hope to deserve it.
Have fun!

Here are my 2 truths and one lie:

Poll
Two truths and one lie...
I surf since 1993. It took me more than 5 years to learn how to stand up and ride a wave.
I play golf since 2011. My first and only hole-in-one (till now) was made in a 2013 amateur tournament.
I started learning music and playing acoustic guitar in 2016. 4 months later I was already in a group and giving a concert.
