Welcome to the second monthly installment of Solitaire miniature Games on Your Table. Fashioned after Solitaire Games on Your Table monthly geeklist, but with more focus on painting miniatures, crafting terrain, and playing games with things we have created and posted in 1pg Miniatures Games Terrain Thread, and The 1 Player Guild Miniature Painting Thread. Skirmishes can be a focus but anything with miniatures painted or unpainted is acceptable, nay, encouraged.

In continuation of Rev's Guidelines re Posting, I will offer the same minimal rules about adding to this list

d10-1- Does it have miniatures?
d10-2- Do you/do you plan to play it solo?

Yes? Yes? Then please show us what's on your table!!

The Goal is to be more accepting than restrictive. I would argue if the game has mini's and you feel like it should be here than it probably should.

Feel free to post on progress on games that you are preparing for in addition to the games you have played. This isn't exclusively AAR's, a little more free-form than the typical SGoYT as many of the hours going into games here are spent before you ever draw a card or roll a die.

I would also like to Continue Rev's guidelines for this group, and add another discussed in the sub thread. If anyone feels like something should be added please post in the comments. We should all be treating each other with the same respect and kindness that the 1pg guild is known for.

1 - Be nice
2 - No sexism/homophobia/racism/ableism please. We have an amazingly diverse group of people in the 1PG, let's be welcoming to all-comers!
3 Please use neutral pronouns when in doubt, and generally inclusive language, instead of guys: Folks, Y'all, Hepcats, Jellybeans mb

This Month's Theme:

The Painting Queue

I hope I'm not alone in this simple fact that I have a mountain of unpainted miniatures and many projects I've neglected in favor of distractions.

Image from Geekdad.com

This month I want to focus on going back and revisiting some of these. Feel free to share some projects you may have neglected for whatever reason, and how you might return this month or in the future.

Think of it as posting on goals you have for painting or crafting, and how you might use this as a little nudge to make some progress on something you were once excited about but may have taken a back burner in favor of recent projects or just life.

Please don't take this as a miniature painting challenge or any such thing, there are plenty of challenges already going. Just a talking point to get some conversation going in addition to the regular posts for the month.

Any Geekgold awarded to this list will be given to people posting in line with the theme.bag

Nice theme!

I shall finally put these guys together...

Maybe I’ll even start painting them.

Update:
Geeze that just give you enough pieces to let you have tons of modding options.

One two character sprue I’ve already cut off one hand and replaced it. I have three heads to pick from and two more special weapon hands I can mod on. Part of me wants to make one duel wield part thinks that’s too much. Than I can pick if I want it holding the knife vertical or horizontal!!!surprise I can see how this model building can be both really fun but AP prone.

Luckily I have another sprue of these two so I can really have fun and experiment.

Update! They are assembled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zombies

Ghouls

Skeley Army

These two are my favorite. For him I had an a few really different options for the right hand/weapon. So after picking the sickle which seems like a good "head cutter" I decided to attached what looks like a dwarf head to the shield. Cause that would cause extra fear to an enemy. (if the reanimated skeleton chasing you with a sickle didn't already)

This one, I don't really like his head with the crow eating out of it but the other head options didn't really sit nice. But I decided to cut an extra sword in half and stick it to both sides to make it look like this jellybean was run through!

It's going to be real fun to paint this. That will have to come later though. I really need to get back to finish painting hellboy.

It really is more fun than I'd imagine to put figures together. Little things like turning a head a different direction to twisting a torso can really add character.

############

Here we go! Rebooted US Marshall Lucy Stanhope now that I have a better understanding of the rules and progression. Into the mine she goes!

Kicking aside some old boards strewn about the mine entrance, Marshall Stanhope finds Something Shiny...a piece of darkstone! Well, that’s pretty auspicious, now ain’t it? Lantern in hand, the Marshall walks down the tunnel, a gentle foul wind whispers from deep in the mine, damping her pleasure at finding the darkstone. The walls fall away, and she raises the light to see she’s entered a room, looks to be a blast room. Or a room that’s been blasted. But now the floor is covered with what looks like...giant spider web sacks! Oh, shite!...no wait, they're dry and dusty, dead, the webbing no longer sticky. Fine by her. Using an old busted shovel handle, she pokes around in the disintegrating nest and finds a sack of gold dust ($100)!

The lantern flickers wildly—darn cheap kerosene—and again that whispering foul wind blows through the tunnels, and carries a hissy, chittering black cloud of bats, startling the Marshall, and making her drop the darkstone. Scrabbling around in the broken rock for it, she doesn’t find it, but does come up with another pouch, bloodstained, filled $25 gold pieces. Eh, what’s a little old blood in the search for an early & easy retirement? She’s seen plenty in her day. It’s an monotonous color, if you ask her.

Looking through the next doorway, she sees boiler machinery that used to generate steam to run the drills. Suddenly chitinous clicking of many legs is all around her, and tentacles writhe in the shadows! (4 Void Spiders and 3 Stranglers) Sweeping her shotgun around her, she manages to stave of many of the bites, but one gets past and lands a bite (2 damage). Ow! Gritting her teeth against the pain, she lights and lobs a stick of dynamite into the midst of the horde, splattering gore everywhere (kill 2 spiders, 2 stranglers, wound 1 spider (-1 hp), wound 1 strangler (-1 hp)).

Nothing warms a woman’s heart quite so much as blowing vermin to bits! kiss

Wiping the bug juice off her face, she continues to block the spiders—is that infernal moans on the wretched breeze?—she levers a cartridge into the shotgun and takes a shot, but the spiders skitter out of the way, and she misses. The remaining strangler is blocked, but its tentacles keep whipping around, seeking Marshall Lucy’s throat. Again the spiders close, again she beats them back, and, ticked off by missing her shot, she hauls off and starts kicking and stomping, and makes greasespots of the foul arachnids. The strangler leaps over the tangled legs of the dead spiders, and a lashing tentacle gets a good punch in & knocks the Marshall’s hat off (3 damage).

Well, that just annoys the heck out of our bug-juiced hero, so she takes a hip shot with her shotgun and blows the strangler’s tentacles off, and it drops dead to the floor. “Nobody, but nobody, messes with my hat!” she mutters. And starts choking on a foul green miasma that has drifted into the room from deeper in the mine. Spitting, she ties her bandana around her nose and mouth and searches the room...nothing. Not a cotton-picking thing. The room’s already been picked over. Phaw!

Marshall Stanhope cautiously approaches the next room, and looking in her skin crawls. Bluely glowing candles surround a sigil on the floor. What vile rites are conducted here? Suddenly giant tentacles come up from the floor in the far shadows (4 Tentacles). Ergh, she really hates tentacles! The stranglers were bad enough...whatever these are attached to must be huge! She quickly shoots from the hip, misses, Grits her teeth, and levers another shot into the breech, bringing the shotgun up and taking aim...blam! One becomes diced calamari. She takes another shot...Blam! Calamari ala king!

The tentacles close on her, but she evades and beats them back, while reloading. Using the butt of the shotgun, she clobbers one of the tentacles. Only one left! Back and forth the battle goes, damage on both sides, and she feels a Growing Dread as the lantern flickers again. She needs to end this! The Marshall brings the muzzle of her shotgun up and Blam! the last tentacle is cut in half by the close shot. Leaning against the wall to Catch her Breath, she straightens her hat, wipes the blood from her mouth, and pops her finger back into joint (heal 3).

“Bah!” Marshall Stanhope thinks. “This mine is a dry hole, ain’t nuthin’ here to risk my life for. Screw this, I need a drink, and a little card shufflin’. I’m going back to town. Look up the measly rat Siri that gave me the directions to this sorry POS of a mine, and give her a little ‘feedback’.”

And with that, US Marshall Stanhope heads back to town, bouncing the sack of gold dust in her hand. This will be a nice little ante for the poker table.

Some time ago I acquired the 1st edition rulebook and not long after got the 2nd edition from the Kickstarter. I had some pretty big ambitions to play this game through the full solo campaign for Tomb of serpents.

You can see some of my progress here.

Tomb of serpents inventory.

I abandoned this project and earlier this week I discovered the majority of the minis in a brown paper bag, washed and never primed.

I think what I need to do with this game is resolve to just do a few one-offs instead of an entire campaign. Every time I thought about preparing for it, I was overwhelmed with the amount of stuff I didn't have terrain wise. There is a lot of indoor stuff going on where some pulp style dungeon tiles might be necessary.

I just want to test out this system more, probably try the horror deck.

I could even paint up some of the minis I have set aside for it, and use the stat cards that came with the ToS deck to make it easier to set up. If it ends up being interesting enough I could adapt my own campaign with these roster cards, and the horror deck some of the minis from that geeklist.

Cuts through the barrier of some of the needed things for the campaign. I remember from the one game I played it was a really satisfying system, and stuff I've acquired since then could really make for a thematic game, given I already have decent models picked out for each of these almost Lovecraftian Egyptian pulp settings.

Glad people are enjoying the theme. This project inspired it, but that's not the only reason I chose it. I'm glad I'm not the only one, LOL.

Looking forward to this month!

Only the first and I've already got 2 plays of this in. Played 2 handed to learn the rules. Made lots of mistakes to late to go back, but still ended up pretty fun.

I played 2 games of sweep and clear, which involves holding objectives and breaking the other kill team where you need to have flesh wounds, shake, or eliminate half of them, and then they fail a leadership roll.

Iron Hands Space Marines dubbed Steel Team 666 vs. my Hunt for Red Orktober Bad Moonz Orks.

The first game I was not digging the tokens I made. I printed a sheet and used spray adhesive to glue it to foam board. They were too bulky and made it feel super fiddly.

You can see the madness in the image, at the end movement phase round 2.

Here you can see the leader for the Iron Hands firing overwatch as an Ork Boy charges in. One of the mistakes I made was having overwatch be way to accurate.

End of the game ended in a draw. Iron hands killed more orks but the orks had more objectives, and the victory points were a draw.

The second game I changed the terrain.

Sneaky Gitz... I also made some tokens really fast and this time mounted them on chipboard. Much more satisfying tactilely and more functional.

By the end of round 2, the Orks had most of the objectives (this time I switched them out for crates to provide some cover). Didn't seem fair to penalize going after objectives by having them open ground. I was sure they were going to win. Both teams were pretty close to being broken.

I had a burna boy charge and my Boss Nob charge into close combat. Had they both taken out the unit or given them a flesh wound it all would have come down to the Leadership check. At that point, it was either team's game.

Unfortunately, and I say that because I was rooting for the Orks, The burna boy didn't succeed in damaging the Space Marine. Only Orks had to test if they were broken. And they failed. It was looking pretty grim for them by that point if they had been able to pass. It's possible they could have won on round 5, but I'm not sure.

Overall really pleased with this game. First time I've had fun playing 2 handed. Enough so to play 2 games which tells you something about the system right there. Already was thinking of ways I could adapt the solo system to this. Was worried this wouldn't turn out to be viable for solo, but it can only get better from here.

Still having fun with this fantasy-wrestling miniatures game. Earlier this week the villainous Beasts of Battle (led by cowardly lion Leo) won the Rumbleslam Championship in yet another points victory (the coward's way out, I tell you!). Tonight another four-corners game would decide the new top contenders. Dragon Slayers vs Green Horde (now with 'Boticelli' who is a fighting turtle, not an orc) vs two separate teams from former champs The Golden Guard. They've been arguing since losing the trophy, and now the Oof the Ogre has found a gigantic rhino friend to fight alongside.

So I finally got around to finishing the Deluxe Ring I bought a while back. Well, I finished spray-painting it and putting it together. It was a very tight fit, and I had to do way more sanding and filing than I wanted to get the posts in place. Still need to paint in the details; the sponsorship logos etc. The neoprene mat is a better gaming surface, but there's something cool about it being 3D, having minis climb the ringposts, and just having ropes.

Dragon Slayers won this won, with the Golden Guard erupting into civil war and splintering into two confusing factions.

As for the painting queue, this is what it looked like yesterday. You may notice the ringposts that were finished after the picture was taken. A frustrating clump of Zombicide Green Horde, Mansions of Madness, Street Masters, and one Rumbleslam guy I can't get the glue to work on.

So the theme inspired me to not paint this time but to get out these old dungeon tiles. I won them from an awesome guild member awhile back and I haven’t been using them as much as I should. So I broke out the tiles and Hellboy and set up a game using the “build your own case” system which was one of the expansions in the KS. It really adds some nice flare.

Started my SS and SS campaign tonight; loved it.

The Journey’s of Alatar the Blue

Introduction

Alatar the Blue has travelled the lands of Norindaal for over 800 years, lost, lonely and unaware of where he was from, who he was, and most importantly, WHAT he was.

Eru Iluvatar, known in Norindaal as Tauramin, had sent Alatar and his four brothers to the Earth’s to protect and serve the peoples.

Whilst some of his wizard brothers achieved great deeds Alatar was lost to the worlds following a disastrous battle with Zenfal the Sky Demon; Zenfal was defeated but the confrontation took it’s toll and left Alatar with little recollection of himself and none at all of his past.

Magics are now beginning to flow again in Alatar and he is recalling some of his old spells, although casting them is still proving difficult. His desire to help others is also returning and, after centuries of menial jobs, he has been offered opportunities for work in a small independent guild of adventurers; Marek’s Adventuring Service, owned an operated by a grizzled old Half-Orc of that name in the Capital City of An-Mor, Dorantia.

Marek recognised the inherent greatness of Alatar, as well as his earning potential, and welcomed him to the ranks, providing a couple of old hands to support and protect.

Grond Skyclad, a warrior with a distinctly Ogreish appearance and the strength to match, is to act as a personal close quarter bodyguard along with Ari Wilhelmson, a Dwarven Ranger, useful in both ranged and melee combat but rather impulsive in battle as befits his race.

Recently, there has been an increasingly unsettled feel about life in An-Mor, more crime, more violence and more Greenskins and Barbarians moving northwards from Edda, infecting the good lands with their foul ways.

As Alatar’s story begins such a group have entered the city, robbed a merchant’s premises, Laurentis Holdings, and fled to the south of the city with a haul of treasures, weapons and gold. Laurentis has commissioned Marek’s Adventuring Service to retrieve his goods and will pay well for their return.

Marek visits Alatar and his companions at their lodgings at the Red Unicorn Inn, provides them with details of the direction the miscreants fled and dispatches them in pursuit.

Episode One: The End of the Winding Road

The team travel out of the South Gate of Dorantia where they pick up the trail of the thieves, finally crossing The Great River into the Southern Savage Lands before nightfall.

Half a day further and the road ends at a desolate area with only bare rocks and thickets of dense foliage; Ari cautions that this seems a great place for an ambush and leaves them, briefly, to scout ahead. On his return he tells them that he has seen movement in some of the bushes, and, possibly, evidence of digging suggestive of the Goblins attempting to hide their ill gotten gains in this place.

Cautiously our heroes move forward into the clearing.

Grond rushes forward and is immediately ambushed by a hidden Hoarcat which he kills with one blow of his sword; at his feet is a wooden message tube. As Ari shouts and points it out to him a second Hoarcat launches at him.

Ari tries to bring his crossbow to bear but fails, grabs his sword and skewers the beast.

Alatar seems a little shocked, fails to move and merely stares at Grond.

Grond grabs the tube, thrusts it into his waistband then searches the thicket to his right, uncovering an open chest of gold. Grabbing the gold, he fills his bags and moves away to a nearby rocky outcrop.

Alatar rushes towards Ari as 2 Goblin archers come into view; he casts a fireball spell and they become ash, whilst a horde of 6 Goblins move towards the team.

An angry looking troll wanders into the clearing from across the river as Ari approaches and searches some bushes and tress; he too finds treasure and secretes it about his person.

Alatar attempts to move away from the trees and towards Grond when a large War Gorilla spies him attacks and causes him serious wounds, Ari shoots and hits but fails to kill it. Alatar joins in whilst Grond tries to get back to help, causing a further wound to the beast which is finally ended by Ari’s crossbow.

The Goblin horde continue moving towards our heroes who are beginning to look distinctly nervous, even more so as a Mountain Orc chooses to wanders over to the group from the pass they had entered by, looking quite mean and moody. A brief discussion ensues and he agrees to leave without conflict due to Ari’s charismatic negotiations.

Again the horde moves southwards and Alatar shouts to retreat, running towards the opening to the pass and the relative safety of their horses, Grond accompanies him whilst Ari searches one more bush: Empty.

He then tries to follow his partners but falls in a hole, twisting his ankle badly. He manages to climb out and hobbles to the mounts barely escaping the Goblins.

Reaching the horses the companions swiftly head East then North back towards Dorantia; stopping briefly to rest and tend their wounds only when satisfied that they were a safe distance away from the Greenskin gang.

Although they had only recovered the contents of 2 chests they were relatively happy with the outcome as it did meet, but not exceed, that asked of them.

They quickly remount and urge their steeds at a brisk pace, finally entering the Golden City a few hours after nightfall. Finding Marek in the bar of the Red Unicorn they recount their tale and travel to his offices to secrete the loot, receive their payment and finally open the secret message……..

Hope I'm doing this right adding the same game again, but the next session, as a separate item. If not, do I just add to my first entry?
Or should I only add one item per game?

Episode 2: The Defence of Narwot

The note is a report to an as yet unidentified individual that, as instructed, a monster has been dispatched to the village of Narwot, by the river in the East, with instructions to kill all the inhabitants. Despite his outwardly gruff appearance, Marek cannot tolerate evil and, besides, whenever there’s adventuring there’s bound to be profit.

Of which he gets 40% without lifting a finger.

The team are to rush forthwith to the village and defend it at all costs, question the villagers on why they have been targeted and return, as quickly as possible, to report back to Marek. There is no time for them to buy, sell or engage in any of their usual activities before travelling out.

Entering the village from the West Bridge they are immediately set upon by a couple of Gnolls while even more creep in from the opposite side. A few villagers are running in panic but seem unsure where to go; during the fight a couple manage to escape the area but one became trapped in the field neat the Old Farmstead.

Just as the companions felt they were getting the upper hand Grond was hit three times in quick succession and fell, meanwhile, an armoured assassin, obviously the employer of the Gnoll Mercenaries, appeared at the far end of the village and slowly made his way towards Alatar.

Ari moved to defend Alatar but his shots were compromised as it began to rain heavily and a further ambush left him heavily weakened. Alatar was also hit as the Mana he relied on to cast his magic waned, minutes later it was reduced further and Alatar had to rely more on his rusty swordplay.

Ari fell as another Gnoll ambush occurred leaving Alatar to deal with 2 Gnolls and a heavily injured Assassin; finally with only little strength left Alatar managed to kill the remaining foes and sought out the remaining visible survivor.

Thanking him profusely she accompanied him to the Church where the remainder of the villagers were hidden. They showered him with gold for the 19 Gnolls and the Assassin killed and commiserated him on the loss of his friends, promising to give them a fitting funeral in their local graveyard.

The Village Elders tell Alatar that their Healer, Sonje Leaffall, was the target of the Assassin but she had fled to her Cabin in the hills of Orrika Dur to the North. They do not know who wants Sonje dead or why but think it has something to do with an item sent to her by her cousin further south in the lands of the Lizardmen.

Alatar assures the villagers that he will do his utmost to protect Sonje and stop more incursions to the village. He bids his farewell and rides out for Dorantia, leading the horses of his fallen friends behind.

Not quite to the gaming table, but we've made it to the work table at least and I'm sure the next step won't be far off!

My order from Vanguard Miniatures finally arrived! Everything is still unpainted metal, resin and plastic so just medium pictures to avoid spamming the thread with a big wall of ugly but they'll blow up so you can get a closer look at the little boyz, etc! I'll replace them with pretty pictures ASAP cool

First up, Blood Axes! 40 kommandos on the left and 25 kommando specialist/bosses on the right with two trukks! The trukk models come with separate tops and bottoms so you can mix and match and make your fleet super orky! Dime is for scale laugh

Da Bad Moonz! Top left are a couple of bosses, a few regular boyz and some armed grots, and beneath those are four trakks with towed artillery that I will base separately so that the trakks are free for Gorkamorka action later on. The three identical sprues close to the dime are Mega-Armoued orks and some pieces that I will use for ammo tokens, and the three on the right are grot "helpers", most of which will be "civilians" but a few will probably be added to mega-armoured boyz' bases as well

The Imperial Guard Penal Legion! The 15 prisoners on the left will be "civilians" who must be rescued before the bugs can "allow them" to escape justice by the emperor's hand angry A couple of light vehicles up top and a transport on the bottom with some options, I'm leaning towards open top (Gorkamorkaaaa) and using the crates as imperial ammo tokens. Four on the top right are some command, special weapons, gun emplacements and buggies, the 10 closest to the truck are specialist "Storm Troopers" and the last 10 are my first Penal Squad!

9mm m4 washers with 2x1mm magnets glued underneath A bit of spackle to fix the leveling and give it some texture and a bit of grit and we just need my new primer to show up!

The centerpiece, my Imperial building that I forget the purpose of. Pretty generic looking though, it could just be one of the planet's prison buildings! Hopefully this isn't too much of a pain to assemble, they had a whole line that looked pretty good and the price was decent for the size, the site says it's 45mm high with a 75x75mm footprint. Should look good and imposing next to these minis anyway!

And last, la creme de la creme...

Ork shanty town! Big picture anyway because I love it so damn much. I could see myself buying another one of these down the road if I end up clicking with this scale for skirmish games, they were really reasonable and they look amazing and a second set would let me pretty much pack the 20" table I have planned Oi, wotz dat sneakin' around back dere...

and, because I never posted them to my last entry, the finished dropships:

That's all of Bommerz over da Sulphur River painted, it counts, I'm counting it!

I'm going for as close to a 2nd edition look with this project as I can. Red sunz bolters and goblin green bases for everyone!

Not yet played solo, but definitely the main game on my table this month!

The lists I am working on:
My Harlequins
The list was recommended by chris and cribbed from reddit:
++ Kill Team List (Harlequins) [100pts] ++
+ Leader +
Player [16pts]: Leader, Harlequin's Kiss, Shuriken Pistol
+ Specialists +
Player [16pts]: Combat, Harlequin's Kiss, Shuriken Pistol
Player [16pts]: Zealot, Harlequin's Kiss, Shuriken Pistol
Player [16pts]: Veteran, Harlequin's Kiss, Shuriken Pistol
+ Non-specialists +
Player [19pts]: Harlequin's Kiss, Fusion Pistol
Player [17pts]: Harlequin's Embrace, Fusion Pistol

My hack job tyranids with a few photos following:
Leader: Genestealer
Specialists:
Warrior (Veteran): Boneswords*, Deathspitter, Flesh Hooks, Adrenal Glands
Genestealer (Combat): Acid Maw
Genestealer (Scout): Flesh Hooks
Non-specialists:
4 Genestealers
...And all the genestealers have both rending claws and scything talons because no reason not to. For exactly 100 points!

The reason I say hack job is that I started with used models and didn't do much to improve them before just spray priming over the existing paint. I also did my first couple of mods / kit bash and just powered through refusing to succumb to perfectionism or anything like it! So I get hit with the occasional bit of insecurity but mostly I am proud of them because I pushed through and they are still good enough to be fun to play with.

I added an acid maw to one guy:

Some all in a row:

And I converted some scything talons from another model into some "boneswords" for my warrior as well as tracking down an adrenal gland for his back then started to block in my contrast colour:

I was hoping to have it playable by tomorrow although I haven't heard back from my opponent, for good or ill. Might do a solo test game even though they are not done tonight.

I got the game last week and painted all the base game minis and a few from the Terrain Starter Set.

Now I'm ready for my first adventures... at least the tutorial. It's my first skirmish wargame and I'm soooo excited for it!!

And I have also started to play Fallout 4 - computer game to get a better knowledge of the world of Fallout. I have also realized that I need a new computer.. playing at the worst graphical settings is just MEH!!

Ah, the painting queue... I'm almost done with my Outlaw Pledge for Shadows of Brimstone, you can have a look at completed and not-quite-completed and not-completed-by-a-long-shot and not-even-started projects of mine HERE.

For this month, I would like to do some stuff with SoB, while heading for the finish line concerning painting:

1. Create custom cards for all the Hero class upgrade trees
2. Familiarize myself with the expansion rules with a solo session or two (or three devil )
3. Organize all my stuff for this game
4. Put together a campaign to play. I looked at the Hexcrawl stuff, but while it looks amazingly well thought-out, I find it too much rules to learn. I'd just like to string some missions together with a sensible narrative, put together some themed Threat and Item decks and have fun with them.

Will keep you posted on my progress here .

Today I want to share my first impressions with you. But before I start with the report, I want to tell you how I ran into this rabbit hole.

You have to know that I'm a big fan of Angel Giraldez, an amazing miniature painter. I have purchased his books and follow him on YouTube. In his books, he explains step by step how to paint Infinity minis. I started to have a closer look at this game and quickly realized that I love this open world, measurement thing and do whatever you want game style. Unfortunately it has no solo mode.

Soon after, I discovered Fallout: Wasteland Warfare. I played Fallout 1 and 2 on the computer manyyyyy years ago. I love the postapocalyptic setting and decided to order the base game, the Terrain Start Set and the Red Rocket Scenic Pack. I had no idea of the characters, story and so on. Then I purchased Fallout 4 - GOTY Edition for 10 Euros!! I have started to paint my minis and inbetween I'm playing the computer game. Amazing. After 1 hour gameplay, I discovered Red Rocket and it really looks like in the tabletop game!!! I'm happy to have the computer game as well, because it helps me to immerse more into this world!

My FLGS had some core sets and additions to the core sets for a discounted price. I had to purchase these packs immediately!! OMG how stupid?! I don't even know the game but I really hope that this is a game I'll stuck at for a long time.

The PVC minis in the starter set are really good but the resin minis (It's my first time to paint resin minis) are OUTSTANDING! So much fun to paint them and I really love that all minis are different. For me, it's always a bit challenging when I have to do batch painting (many minis of the same type/appearance)...

I like the out of the box AI, which is also useable for all the game modes! You can create your own scenario, you can play in settlement mode like in the computer game. You can play with each faction, with each combination. You can play in team mode. Coop. Battle Mode. Create your own battle field with the terrain you have. Wow, there is sooo much inside. Absoultely love the ideas in this game and what's in the box and in the minds of the developers (wave 2 of new stuff is coming and ideas for wave 3 is coming too).

The rulebook is very good structured with many examples and there are points where you should stop reading and play the next tutorial. And I like all the things I read so far like how to shoot, how to charge, how do act in close combat, what does line of sight and line of cover mean and so on. On the back of the rulebook I saw an icon for drinking alcohol in this game (I think, the player is also allowed to drink beer, or :-P). I'M SOOO EXCITED for my first "real" play today!

And the best thing, if you are new to skirmish wargames, like I am, there is a bloody beginner tutorial included. There you learn the basics of what is a skirmish war game, how you move, shoot and charge. Very customer friendly!

Because I'm a bloody beginner, I started with this book:

Bloody beginner Tutorial 1
Moving around while monsters are watching at you :-P

In this game, everything is measured with these rulers. Abosuletly love it!

Nora is able to move a maximum of "yellow". She have to go to the crate where the gun is waiting for her and afterwards go to the exit.

Bloody beginner Tutorial 2
Shooting with your 10mm pistol at cans :-P

The pistol has only short range. And in this tutorial we are ignoring everything on the weapon card. We are just rolling the white skill die and see, if our skill test of is equal or lower than the perception number written on our skill card.

Bloody beginner Tutorial 3
Meele weapons - Fight that fruit trees with a baseball bat:-P

Yeah, we are very hungry and therefore we went to all the trees on the training grounds, hitting the fruit trees and hoping that a fruit falls down With Meele weapons, you can only attack if your base is in touch with the targets base.

Bloody beginner Tutorial 4
Long range weapons - Take that, you disgusting rats!

Adding the colored dice to my skill test which are effecting the dealt damage, can reduce armour, alter the white skill die and so on.

This rifle already has a fantastic short range. The long range is just amazing (blue + black ruler)!!

Wow I had a blast and already loved the most basic concepts of this game. Today I'll set up the first "real" tutorial. I want to play against the AI and want to play both sides (Survivors and Super Mutants). I'll play this tutorial till I have internalized the rules I have learnt so far!

PS: Jay, I have reduced the image size to medium, just for you
