Here's my shopping guide for new players who might be overwhelmed by the massive magic item list. It assumes a game where players are free to buy any magic items listed in the DMG, at least. Constructive feedback is always appreciated. If your game doesn't allow the purchasing of magic items, good for you, but I don't need to hear about it.

My game group's old sheet. This thing is a BEAST. I reworked it so the main stat stuff would auto calculate, based on what you enter in the sub-stats... so.. for example, your STR would equal what you put in the Start, Level, Racial, etc. cells. Encumbrance weight sums based on entered equipment weights. Skills sum based on entered ranks and mods.

They are also fillable with automatic calculation capability. Custom Character sheets are allowed by the open gaming licence.
