An historical french-language roleplaying game set on the Middle East, during the crusades, where the PC are templars fighting for their faith. They wield sword, lance and miracles in defense of the Latin states. However, they also have to fight the Devil and the many beasts he has unleashed over the world. All historical legends are deemed true - a lot of research has gone into this.
Muslims, too, fight for their faith and oppose the Shaytan : it is possible to play Ismaelian Assassins with the corresponding extension. Assassins are killers of course, but also miracle-makers, master alchemists and kabbalists.
Very often the PCs will have to act as go-betweens to prevent virtuous men of both faiths from clashing and giving Hell a victory. Diplomacy is a crucial part of both the storyline and the adventures. Rash fanatics will be killed swiftly and uselessly.
The rules use playing cards in the manner of Castle Falkenstein ; miracles are "bought" by setting aside powerful cards, so that one actually sacrifices part of one's abilities in exchange for divine help. PCs only get experience if, during the course of the game, they managed to act virtuously enough. It is possible to confess one's faults at the end of the session to erase at least part of the mistakes.
