User summary:
Savage Worlds is the core ruleset for all of Pinnacle’s roleplaying games.
For the current version, see Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (SWADE).
Savage Worlds has everything you need to play narrative or miniature-based games, with quick, simple, yet comprehensive rules for everything from combat to Dramatic Tasks, Chases, and Interludes. The emphasis is on less bookkeeping for the Game Master so she can quickly and easily create worlds and adventures for any setting and focus on the players and their actions to keep the action and story rocketing along.
As a Board Game: Savage Worlds can also be played solely as a miniatures game, and also exists in the wiki as a board game - see Savage Worlds.

The RPGGeek wiki organization - and primary releases of the core rules - includes:
- 2003 Savage Worlds
- 2004 Savage Worlds (Revised Edition)
- 2007 Savage Worlds Explorer's Edition
- 2011 Savage Worlds Deluxe (revised 2015)
- 2012 Savage Worlds Deluxe Explorer's Edition (revised 2015)
- 2018 Savage Worlds Adventure Edition
Savage Worlds Deluxe and Savage Worlds Deluxe Explorer's Edition are the same version of the rules, but released in different trim sizes: Savage Worlds Deluxe is US letter-sized (8½″ × 11″), while Savage Worlds Deluxe Explorer's Edition is US trade paperback-sized (6½″ × 9″). They do not share the same typesetting, however, so page-number references that are accurate for one book may be inaccurate for the other. Chapter Two: Gear, for instance, starts on p. 48 of Savage Worlds Deluxe but on p. 54 of Savage Worlds Deluxe Explorer's Edition.
