Long before the age of man, before the time of mammals or any creature of the land, a great god rose from deep below the sea and laid claim to the planet. It ruled for millions of years over the ocean and all of the creatures within it. The simple creatures of the waters lived in fear of their wrathful god, and did all they could to gain its favor. Life in the water was usually short and filled with danger, those who somehow gained the favor of the monster god were granted abilities far beyond those of the lesser creatures. Bones, biting jaws and powerful fins were looked upon with envy from the lesser creatures.
