Author's introduction:
[The] Sorcerer's Cave is about the simplest form of D&D type game there is. In fact it is so simple that even I can run it postally, and is simple enough for me to tell you what you need to know when you get to needing to know it.
The Cave (or Dungeon as we in the trade know it) is built up turn by turn as players boldly go where no Hero, Ogre, Troll, Priest, Woman, Dwarf, or Man has boldly gone before...
User summary:
The Sorcerer's Cave first appeared in Bron Yr Aur (Issue 35 - Dec 1979) and was run by Pete Lindsay. Turns consisted of written instructions on where each player's party (1 to 6 or more individuals) wanted to explore. The results then were published in the subsequent issue. As the Cave was explored, new areas would be added to a growing dungeon map. Turn resolution and dungeon exploration followed a system sharing many characteristics of the board game The Sorcerer's Cave.
