Si-Fan was designed as a play-by-mail game with a heavy focus on combat. Si-Fan was written by Brian Dolton. Many of the game's mechanical rules were published in Lokasenna (Issue 19 - Mar 1985) as an example of a developed combat system.
Characters in the game had six Attributes (three "mental" and three "physical"), various combat Skills, and a variety of armor and weapon options. Characters were built from a point pool.
