Paul Pendergast worked with Robin Jenkins to develop and design the American Girls board game for the Pleasant Company (Mattel). Though the game included many high quality components and a tight design, it was hindered by a company insistence that it include trivia that made the game inaccessible to a general audience. The American Girls game includes competitive and cooperative elements that make it a unique game. The art work and game pieces are first rate making the physical game a beautiful compliment to a unique design.
Also designed for the Pleasant Company (Mattel) (by Pendergast/Jenkins) was the Amelia card game that used story telling elements combined with traditional card game mechanics for a fast paced gaming experience that touched upon creative, narrative play.
