David Howell is a game designer and author from Seattle, Washington. He is known for co-writing and co-editing "The Primal Order," the first game from Wizards of the Coast, and being the production manager for Magic: The Gathering. He also was appointed to found a book publishing department for Wizards of the Coast. He left the company in 1995 and later worked with James Ernest at Cheapass Games, as well as launching an e-publishing dot com and creating the base for the 2009 Hugo Award.
In the last few years he's been making high-end accessories for games, most notably "PennyGems,"(http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/276266606/pennygems) under the company name "Improbable Objects" He is often asked to present his "Golden Guidelines of Game Design" at conventions.
