From the Claymore entertainment website:
I was born in Anchorage, Alaska in 1977 during a hot summer day. I grew up in the woods around Big Lake, Alaska on my family’s property. My childhood was full of adventure playing in the woods, swamps and lakes of the area. I also lived the life of a gypsy during the short summer months. My family owns and runs a pottery studio and we sell our pots at galleries and various fairs. We camped in a tent behind our booth and I enjoyed this vagabond life amongst other fair vendors’ children.
When I was eight my family bought our first sail boat and my summers were then filled with cruising the sea and beachcombing. My family and I sailed down the Inside Passage when I was ten years old. We sold our first boat in Seattle. Our 2nd sail boat we bought in San Diego and for the next two years cruised the Baja Peninsula in Mexico. We also sailed from Mexico to Hawaii, then back to Alaska.
My folks gave me my first RPG game, the original D&D, when we celebrated my eleventh birthday in a place called Bishop’s Bay in Canada. I immediately loved the chance to tell stories and share my ideas with others I finagled in to playing with me. I graduated high school from the Wasilla Alternative School and proceeded to study writing at the University of Alaska Anchorage, though I have never received a degree. I also have a long standing love of video and photography. I have worked in many jobs as disparate as electrical apprentice and writing movie reviews for the local paper. I have worked many years in video production with a video company in Anchorage. Beginning at the age of three, I made and sold pottery. My first pots were pinch pots and later I progressed to the potter’s wheel. Today I sell my work at fairs along with my father. I like to say that I am genetically stuck, both of my parents are artists, and my mother’s family has been artists for many generations. Today I am happily married with a wonderful 4 year old daughter. In 2008 my best friend, Adam, and I started our company, Claymore Entertainment Inc.
