Mario Barbati (born 1965 in Naples) is a game designer, game publisher, architect, journalist, graphic artist, and cartographer. He graduated from the Federico II University of Naples with a thesis in design. Barbati was in charge of the CAD design laboratory of the School of Specialization in Industrial Design of the Faculty of Architecture of Naples. He also lectured for in computer graphics at the European Institute of Design based in Rome.
At the age of ten, he designed his first board game which was named The Air Battle of England. He also became the first publisher in the world to sell a D20 adventures in electronic format.
