I was born on November 28th, 1976, in Windham, New York. My childhood was spent in North Carolina; a small town near Charlotte called Cornelius. My teenage years were spent in another small town, about an hour east of Utica, New York, called Saint Johnsville. This is where I came to love writing.
During my junior year, my English teacher was very open-minded. We read a wide variety of books and broke them down to study each detail. The writing assignments have me so much creative freedom, and we had group discussions every day. This is about the same time I was introduced to a book by Stephen King called The Tommyknockers. My parents gave me a Brother word processor for Christmas my senior year in high school. I began writing on it that afternoon. My college application required an essay, so I wrote a short story to submit instead. I attended SUNY Oswego and took some creative writing courses while I was there. I also spent some time at the college newspaper, where I did some writing and learned some graphic manipulation. Using my love for writing and graphic knowledge, I began making small gifts for my friends and family. I used manipulated pictures or clipart and a specialized quote or poem to make it very special.
I graduated college in 1999. I now have a wife and two children. I work in a hospital laboratory as a medical technician. I spend a lot of my free time with my family, but I also try to read and write a few hours a day. My poems are romantic and sentimental, but the short stories can be put into the horror or science fiction genre.
