Catherine Thrush has always been creative. She wrote her first children’s fantasy novel, "Quest of the Faes" at the age of 18. She studied Studio Art in college and spent over a dozen years as a glass artist creating both fused and stained glass art work. Since then she’s gone back to writing, working on her first historical fiction/ action adventure screenplay and book called "Lady Blade," which she plans to debut on Kickstarter soon along with the prequel, "Francesca’s Maestro."
Originally from Appleton, Wisconsin, C. J. Thrush wrote and illustrated a first children’s novel at the age 18. Quest of the Faes was published by a small Midwestern publisher (PearlWin, 1985) when C. J. was working toward a B.A degree in Studio Art at the College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota.
After college C. J. moved to California and took up competitive fencing under Maestro John DeCesare, the model and inspiration for Francesca’s father, Maestro Thurio DiCesare.
C. J. became a glass artist and founded Bella Lumina Art Glass Studios. In the aftermath of the horrible 9/11 attack business dried up and she decided to pursue her other love, writing.
C. J. currently lives in San Jose, California with her wonderful husband and their very naughty cat.
