This short supplement introduces three simple elements designed to spice up your combat encounters. None of them are rules-intensive, because the object is not to slow things down with endless tables, modifiers and calculations – these elements are easy to remember and easy to implement.
Critical Hits & Fumbles: you’ve probably used critical hits and fumbles before, possibly experimenting with various levels of complexity and gore. These rules are not lethal, maiming, or even particularly injurious; and they’re certainly not complicated.
Battlefield Events: battlefield events are random events which can happen on the battlefield, affecting the combatants or the environment.
Stunt Areas: stunts are colourful maneuvers which characters may use while in combat. They serve to liven up combats, creating more interesting and varied battles.
