Two parallel railway tracks run through the grass covered plains from horizon to horizon. The railway tracks have been laid on top of a railway embankment a few meters high. Beyond the rails, railroad ties and the gravel supporting them the embankment gently slopes down to the grassy plain. To one side of the embankment it is flanked by the masts of a telegraph line. On the other side it is flanked by a dirt track, mostly used by maintenance vehicles and crews, running parallel to the rails.
