A reference work about the Awnsheghlien and Ersheghlien of Cerilia for use with the Birthright d20 Campaign Setting Rulebook, a fan conversion of AD&D Birthright setting to the d20 System made with permission of Wizards of the Coast and made available as a free download on the (then-) official WotC-sponsored fan website www.birthirght.net.
From the publisher blurb
The blood of the gods courses through the veins of all Cerilia’s scions, gifting or cursing them with the right to rule and the destiny of kings. But in some that heritage takes hold more deeply than in others, leading to transformation into something between mortal and immortal, man and beast. The awnsheghlien and ersheghlien of the Birthright setting are part of what makes the campaign unique. Some of these creatures are nearly gods themselves, and the process that takes hold of them is an epic transformation can crush them or set them on high amongst the pantheon of Cerilia’s most powerful beings.
Blood of the Gods contains guidelines for portraying the unique characters of the Birthright setting using the updated rules for Dungeons & Dragons 3e, 3.5 and D20. The system is meant to work in conjunction with the New Scions: Blood Ability Points System text, but could stand alone as a DM’s reference for creating characters whose transformation has begun to take hold.
Also included is an essay “A Guide to Creating New Awnsheghlien and Ersheghlien” meant to help DMs understand the themes and methods behind the creation of new iconic characters for the Birthright setting.
