Without one any acts of heroism they might engage in are illegal, and in the eyes of the law they are no different from the villains they fight. The vigilante's license, however, brings with it certain restrictions. It ties the hero into the corrupt superhero industrial complex. They will have to play by the rules and learn to finesse the system. There will always be superheroes for whom these compromises are unacceptable, vigilantes who work outside the law in order to enforce it. No team of heroes exemplifies this seemingly contradictory philosophy better than the Crimejammers.
