4D&T Director's Cut
user comment:
The 4D&T rules first printing from Editora JBC were not well received by some D&T fans when they were first published; this edition of the rules was released as a free download.
from wikipedia:
As a successor to 3D&T, a new system named 4D&T was published in 2006 by Editora JBC (Brazilian publisher of manga). It completely dropped 3D&T's own fast, simple system in favour of the d20 System. Although it has succeeded on its own, it has been poorly received by 3D&T players, given the original purpose of the system was to be as simple as possible.

from the manual:
Mecânica de Jogo
Apesar da variedade de regras que você encontrará nos próximos capítulos, 4D&T se baseia em uma mecânica de jogo simples que funciona na maioria das situações. Toda vez que seu personagem tentar realizar uma ação, você irá:
• Rolar quatro dados (4D);
• Adicionar ao resultado os modificadores adequados;
• Comparar o resultado a um número-alvo, determinado pelo Mestre ou pelas regras.

Game Mechanics
Despite the variety of rules you will find in the following chapters, 4D & T is based on a simple game mechanic that works in most situations. Whenever your character attempts to perform an action, you will:
• Roll four dice (4D);
• Add the appropriate modifier to the result;
• Compare the result to a target number, provided by the Gameaster or by the rules.
user comment:
4D&T adopts the character structure and most game mechanics of the d20 System –target numbers, six ability scores, class-and-level, OGL license, etc.– but retains the use of six-sided dice (4d6) instead of the eponymous d20.
