One of the Archmage’s hidden towers is threatened by an advancing orc army.
This adventure is ideal for characters as a prelude to Wrath of the Orc Lord, Elf Queen’s Enchantment or The Dwarf Lord’s Domain. It also links neatly with the 2nd level adventure The Lich King’s Crown.
The Ogre Mage’s Tower is a traditional dungeoncrawl adventure. The characters are there to kill monsters and secure the treasure. Characters aligned with the Archmage will want to return control of the tower to him, characters with a negative relationship with the Archmage might be there to take his stuff. There are ideas on how to integrate icon relationships with the adventure at the start of session 1.
The adventure starts in media res with the adventurers already at the front door of the tower. To bring the group of players together and provide a framing device for the story start with a montage.
