Characters have Stats (Attributes) that are assigned a Stat Score. The five Stats are Strength, Agility, Health, Intelligence Quotient, Intuition, and Allure. Stat Scores are recorded as "Dice"; an average human Stat Score is D10; "First Class" ability is D16, and so forth--from D2 to D20 by each even number step. The Stat Score is actually determined by rolling 2D5 and doubling the number rolled and converting this to a "Dice". Characters then purchase Skills, each of which has an associated Stat (unfortunately named, and not to be confused with the earlier Stats). The Skill Stat determines modifiers that will be applied when that Skill is used. Combat is handled like a Skill.
