Characters have five Stats (Attributes): Body, Dexterity, Charm, Intelligence, and Will. Character Stats begin at zero; players distribute 4 points among their Stats at creation. The game does allow "min/maxing" on Stats. Characters have one or more Descriptors which are narrative tags that describe skills or abilities. Characters have 5 points to distribute among their Descriptors. The game also allows "min/maxing" on Descriptor scores. Characters then have a History generated. Characters typically begin play with a "Kodiak", or mecha suit. Action resolution involves rolling a modified 2D6 and comparing against a Difficulty Number. Rolling double-ones means critical failure, rolling double-fours (called a "Lucky Eight") means critical success.
